Tameron Honda

The cost of maintenance is SO MUCH HIGHER

Well I bought my car at Tameron Honda and the salesperson sold me a hybrid and talked to me about how much I would save in gas and in oil changes and I purchased a car out of my price range because the sales person convinced me that because of the gas savings, insurance savings and maintenance savings I would be able to afford the higher monthly car payment.

BOY WAS SHE WRONG – My car insurance went up, and the cost of maintenance is SO MUCH HIGHER.

I called today 3/26/18 and asked how much the maintenance would be for the A12 code message on my car APPROX  450 dollars REALLY  this is not cheaper and the insurance went up.

  1. Good

Sales experience was so enlightening that I left money on the table with 2 other dealerships!? Gabby ROCKS!!

  2. Erika even helped me set up my Bluetooth and store speed dial numbers in the car.

I’ve read some negative reviews and have to say my experience was nothing but pleasant. My salesperson, Erika, was friendly and helpful. The sales manager made a point to know who I was and greet me each time I came in.

The finance manager gave me his cell number in case I had questions. If you’re wondering why it took me more than a day to purchase my new car, it’s because I was working with insurance agents as well. My car was totaled and I picked out the new car before all the insurance paperwork had been processed.

The collision manager priced out the repair on my car and submitted it within 24 hours of receiving the vehicle. All the paperwork was done, signed and just waiting on the check from the insurance agency. The showroom is clean, with very nice restrooms and a snack bar.

Upon completing my purchase, Erika took me to the service department to introduce me to the service manager and technicians. Erika even helped me set up my Bluetooth and store speed dial numbers in the car.

  3. THE ONLY REASON I got a car from here is because Erika M. Stephens helped me.

THE ONLY REASON I got a car from here is because Erika M. Stephens helped me. I was not impressed with one of their sales managers. He was pushy & RUDE. I walked into a storm of men & that was intimidating. I have good credit, knew what I could afford, & he wanted to switch me to a different car!

I explained to him that I didn’t like or want that car & he continued to try & push me towards it. Had it not been for Erika, her kindness, & her truly trying to make me happy, I would have gone elsewhere. If you’re a single female in the car market, go see Erika. She’s great.

  4. Never Again

I have an 03 civic and an 04 CR/V and the low beams on both went out. There is a recall on the switch for these vehicles and I took them to Tameron to get the recall done.

After the recall was done on the civic, the low beams still didn’t work and I took it home to troubleshoot and my troubleshooting pointed to the switch. I took it to a mechanic and he troubleshot and replaced the switch…low beams work now. I wonder if Tameron even did the work.

I took my CR/V in for the same thing. When they were done the low beams worked but they tried to soak me for an oil change and they DID soak me for new headlight bulbs that I’m POSITIVE that I didn’t need.

  5. Scammer

They got the code reader and they said it was showing misfiring. They asked me if I had just filled up with gas and I had. I purchased the gas at Chevron and they said it should be alright. This was Friday so they told me to drive it over the weekend and bring it back the next week.

They did give me a card for a free oil change which I will never use. So the next week the engine light was still on so I took it back to Tameron. This time they called me the same afternoon and told me my car was ready. They said it was a cracked spark plug. OK sounded reasonable. 2 days later while driving on the interstate the same thing happened.

I was on 20/59 toward Irondale with tons of 18 wheelers. I somehow managed to get over to the side of the road. I was so upset I called my brother to see if he would go with me to Tameron. He was out of town but called Tameron and they said to bring it back in (4th time) and they would get me a rental car.

After the engine was off for a while and I could stop shaking I took the car to Tameron. They said they had no idea what was wrong. I guess in my unknowledgeable mind I thought if you rebuilt the engine it should be OK.

  6. I really didn't want to give them one star.

I really didn’t want to give them one star. My experience has been with the Service Department. I took my van in because the check engine light was on and it kept misfiring so basically the van would not go at certain times. I took my van in on April 18th and just picked it up today for the 5th time.

They told me the engine needed rebuilding at a cost of around $6000. My van is a and I know nothing about engines so I was agreeable. I asked about trading it in and was told I wouldn’t be given anything for it. I first picked up my van on April 24th with the Service Advisor Zack Lawson telling me it was like having an engine with 0 miles on it.

I drove it 1 day and the same thing happened. This time it did it while I was at an intersection trying to cross 2 lanes of traffic. I said Please God alot. No one hit me. The next morning I took it back to Tameron and told them what had happened including the stopping in traffic.

  7. DO NOT GO HERE.

The salesman we were supposed to meet with ditched us. We liked the guy that they gave us in his place, however they try to talk as fast and as complicated as possible to confuse you. We tried to trade a 2013 convertible mustang and a 2002 honda civic for ONE ACCORD and they wouldn’t do it for us.

They appraised my mustang at way under Blue Book value and it’s in perfect condition with 10,000 miles less than it should have. Not to mention as soon as they saw our credit their attitudes totally changed and they turned their noses up at us like we were dirt.

I’ll never EVER go back here again. We were completely humiliated and I wouldn’t recommend anyone go here. Serra Honda has better deals, any other dealership would probably be worth the drive, DO NOT GO HERE.

  8. I look forward to dealing with them in the future.

I looked at the Honda Civic in Daphne, AL first. Then I called Tameron Honda in Hoover. They gave me a really great deal. This is the very FIRST Honda I have ever bought. I love it!

Handles great and gives a really smooth ride. Everyone I spoke with was helpful and so nice. I look forward to dealing with them in the future.

  9. I was wrong.

I made them drain and refill the oil again, while I was present, the person filling my oil didn’t seem to care, so whatever. My lug nut problem seemed like my problem according to the service manager. He asked me where I got them and where to find them, and was very rude.

I just said it was missing and it was your problem. I didn’t get no apology or I’m sorry and was sent on my way. I was in an accident and I made the mistake of taking it to the body shop, thinking it would be different than the service department, but I was wrong.

  10. She really went above and beyond to make this transition as easy as possible for me.

I have purchased several cars from this dealership and have never been disappointed. I recently purchased a 2018 CR-V and could not be happier with the purchase or the help I received from my salesperson, Kay G. She was so knowledgeable about the products, answered all of my questions, and made this a fun experience.

Kay is the best and I will continue to take my business to Tameron Honda in Hoover. She even helped me with my trade-in and advised me on how best to update my tag and insurance. She was even nice enough to help fax my agent some info while I was there so that I could quickly stop and get my tag done on my way home. She really went above and beyond to make this transition as easy as possible for me.

  11. Great facility with even better service.

Great facility with even better service. Scheduled an appointment, was checking email in the lounge when I received a call that my Pilot was ready. They over-performed, the car was ready in half the time.

  12. I would rather pay for my own oil changes before these people touch my car again!

I hate when other people touch my vehicle. I will always fix my my own car and change my own oil. I have the free two years of maintenance so I figure I would give it a shot. It took forever just for an oil change. When they were bringing my car around, they were revving the engine like madman! (I have a catback exhaust on it) when the brought it around, they was a coffee stain on the trunk and I just had the car detailed.

None of the fluids of topped off, I ran out of wiper fluid and it was not filled. They overfilled my engine oil, I brought it to my house and drained it. I will be doing my own oil changes from now on and it doesn’t bother me if it’s free at the dealership. I would rather pay for my own oil changes before these people touch my car again!

  13. Which is fine because I canceled the check.

I would not recommend this dealership to my worst enemy! I went in to get a used car, after I signed the last paper and got the key, the car won’t crank!!! I ask for my money back, and they said it was legally mine. Which is fine because I canceled the check.

  14. Don't waste your time.

Staff very nice & professional. However, if you’re in the used car building, it is run down with nowhere nice to sit. I’ve purchased a car before where there has been a full set up with TV, snack bar and kids playroom. This is not the case. But if you go into buy a brand new Honda (into that building) it’s a lot nicer and very clean.

I could go on about me experience and every detail but that would take all day. So I’ll just say that they made me feel like my car was going to fall apart and I needed to get into that Honda today!! Everything fell through (and thank the Lord it did). Went to have my car serviced and my normal place just now and my car that I have is just fine.

  15. Bad Service Provide

oh how he is all about the dollar, he could careless about me as a customer! Roberto, who is a fast talker and last the financial guy -Seth – who backed up Jason P. also is a deceiver. I’m yet sitting on their property awaiting the vehicle THEY MADE ME FEEL THAT I HAD TO TAKE OR ELSE…
