Ida Culver House Broadview

Disgusting and Not professional

Ida Culver House Broadview is not impressive. Appears nice initially. The up front sales team excels. After that the staff is below average. After taking a week to evaluate my parent, they have taken over another week to give us back the $5000.00 deposit they cashed (even after repeated emails telling them we need the money).

Here is the topper: The person evaluating our parent was borderline brash with us over the phone setting up the assessment BUT when she called to tell me our parent was declined she was sickening sweet with so many compliments (BTW this time she was on speaker phone with her boss in the room). Disgusting and Not professional.

This was not our first encounter with rudeness with this company. When our parent was discharged from the nursing rehab facility…the staff showed absolutely zero empathy or concern. I thought the assisted living part of this facility would be different. I was wrong.

Empathy and customer service at ERA Living (the parent company) must not be a something they instill in their employees.I would look elsewhere.

perhaps you like that because then you get your precious "rehab" high paying insurance clients?

My dad is still at IDA Culver as I wait to move him to an adult family home. We have never been treated so Poorly! I can tell by all the recent high review ratings IDA Culver has something to do with encouraging this. Because my dad is Medicaid and has occurred extra expenses to IDA Culver, we are really getting the shaft. No matter where we turn we are treated so disrespectfully. There are some great staff on the 3rd floor of assisted living and the case manager is great.

The skilled Nursing home is atrocious to us! There are at least 7 people who passed away in 3 weeks time is what I was told!!!!!!!!! 4 on the second floor, rehab and long term care (although they want to phase out of long term care because insurance doesn’t pay much) 3 people died on the 1st floor of skilled nursing according to one resident.

Not sure what is causing redness. He had the beginning of a pressure sore and apparently no one reported it or noticed it except me.

After state complaints and ombudsman meetings, initially I saw some improvement. Then they fall down again. If you look at Joyce H.’s review she says it’s from “over twenty years ago. Really? why post now? My dad is on the 2nd floor, many of the nurses have a covertly hostile attitude in caring for my dad. Yes the nursing facility wants him out of there because he is costing money for extra care. The nurses go in at all hours of the night “still.” I literally had to confront Shari after she entered the room 4-6 times in the morning. She could have timed my dad’s roommates nebulizer (so loud) for later in the morning but torture is the name of their game.

Let the residents keep their lights, tv all night and some try to cover their eyes with blanket and one with his baseball cap. In most rooms you will see lights on and this begins the process of sleep deprivation. It has become so obvious! My dad moved in to IDA Culver as a robust man not on any medication-now he has lost muscle mass, his weight dropped significantly.

It is very sad to see this.

While Ida Culver is a beautiful facility and great for Assisted Living or Independent Living the Nursing Home in Building D has caused me sleepless nights! There is a breakdown in communication to say the least! Shift changes are awful as one person after the next is uninformed about changes.

My dad was moved from one noisy room to another with roommate who wanted the lights on all night and no one informed me of this. My dad has become sleep deprived! He craves coffee all day as a result of trying to stay awake. People are woken up at all hours of the night for medication, blood sugar tests etc. It is very sad to see this.

    Scammer

many are brought there and left to die alone. But if you are the person who cares and want your loved one to live out a quality life put them in an adult family home, a good one of course. Otherwise the only attention they get is medication management, food, and clothes.

Most residents in wheel chairs don’t seem to even be able to talk anymore so they can’t advocate for what’s right. Good luck to you if you put your relative there and walk away. Even though I have no inheritance to receive from my father I know what goes around comes around and I always advocate for him to the best of my ability as I would hope someone will do for me should I live to be 91 or any old age. Regretfully,

My mother has short term memory loss.

My mother has short term memory loss. She lost her husband and needed more care and stimulation. She is in her 90’s and other than short term memory loss, vibrant and with it.

Ida Culver has a Broadview club option that really stimulates this short of memory loss ( versus advanced dementia or Alzheimers) provides great activities and friendship. The facility is beautiful and well run, the care is individual but the Broadview Club is a godsend. Very impressed with the care and kindness of this wonderful facility.
