Terrible ResponsivenessTerrible responsiveness from Douglas Elliman Real Estate, its no wonder their review score is so low on here.
The timeline: Online inquiry for 1 or 2br at The Leonard(101 Leonard St)–immediate email from Iman Bacodari asking buy or rent–informed rental and that was the last I heard from him.
My fiancé had a similar experience- spoke with Iman on the phone, sent an unanswered text and two unanswered emails.
Iman did not know that we were associated with each other either!
Following suit with Iman’s outstanding customer service practices is associate Lisa (last name unknown).
Left her a voicemail 6/13 explaining our motivation (7/1 move-in), budget ($8,000), and issues with Iman.
Still haven’t heard back from her either. The receptionist is the most proactive person in this office!
We called BOND and had an awesome broker meet us same day 6/15 to show us over 20 apartments in 7 different buildings.
We’re seeing our 2br hopeful at The Leonard on Monday.
She will also be our first choice when looking to buy next summer.
Unethical agents all over New York Long Island
Unethical, exchange clients’ confidential information and bad month about them behind their back. Bad month about other agents, lie about the leaded paint and no disclosing the leaded paint…. They should have the code conducts training as they are very unprofessional.
Douglas Elliman in Roslyn NY will not let me terminate sales agreement
Signed up for a second six month stint with Douglas Elliman in Roslyn NY. Had only a couple of lookers the first time around, and this time, after a month, mot one person. I decided to terminate with them and find someone more capable. Their sales agreement all of a sudden ( this wording was not in the first agreement) says the if you terminate with them they are still entitled to a commission. I asked for a release from that and all they would give me was a form to withdraw the house from an MLS listing. They insisted it was all I need. Two other brokers I know, and my attorney, said otherwise. MLS is one thing, the contract for sale with an agent is another, Even if my house were removed from MLS, the contract with Douglas Elliman for the sale of my house is still binding. The manager of the Roslyn office got involved and was nasty and threatening, threatened me with legal action. This should not happen! There is enough stress from the isolation and fears during this pandemic. I do not need further stress and to be held hostage by a RE company.

Our agent, Nima Yamini a very friendly guy working in the corporate headquarters office of Douglas Elliman on 575 Madison Avenue, immediatly understood our needs. Given our particular situation (as non citizen US) he really got implicated in our case. Thanks to him we found our home with all the requirements we desired!
