Upright Law is SCAM! They are overcharging by 1500.00. I found out that I could have done the exact same bankruptcy by hiring a paralegal for 350$.

Refund check
After I tried to hire upright law I was told I had to pay them a $150 deposit. They then put me in touch with a lawyer. I was told by that lawyer that they couldn’t handle my case so she put me back in touch with her main office. I was told in May 2019 that I’d get a refund check for the $150 mailed out to me within 30-45 business days. It’s now October 2019 and still no check. I keep calling only to be told that they are back logged. The supervisor, Joseph, is handling my check and when I spoke to him last week he said I’d have the check either Wednesday or Thursday of this week. Still no check. Called last night asked to speak to Joseph but was told he was with a client and that he’d call me back. He never called me back. Called today and was told that Joseph was off until next Monday. My check has not been mailed out to me but they keep telling me it’s at the top to be mailed out. How damn hard is it to write the check and mail it out? They didn’t hesitate to take my deposit. But they are taking their sweet time to refund me my money. It’s ridiculous. Every time I call them they people I talk to are rude and hateful. I’ve never seen such unprofessional people in my life. I’ve asked to speak to someone higher up and keep getting told that Joseph is the only one that I can speak with. I’ve asked to speak to their accounting department and keep getting told that I cannot speak with them. It is getting to a point where I’m about ready to just drive up there and sit and wait until someone can give me my check.
Do not use them!!
Just as everyone else has reported, I was wrongfully and purposely ill advised when I signed up. The attorney they set me up who was rude stated he couldn’t help me. Put a request for a refund and it has been 90 days!! They refuse to assist when I cAll and I am extremely angry! They are a complete scam and prey on individuals by taking their money. When I called every time the guys were rude and always claim that they will process my refund on Friday! I can’t tell you how many Fridays I have waited. I’m working on finding an attorney now and hoping it’s not too late to dispute the charges with my bank! I could cry because of the pain they put me through. its a reason people go through this process and then to add more on top of that is heartbreaking!!!!!!

Hire upright law firm to help me getting my finances in order they charge me $2300 took my money and wouldn’t helped unless they were pay in full in which I cooperated fully they file my the paperwork in September of 2018 in December of the same year it was Dismissed l call upright law about the situation they told me they’re take care at no additional cost to me in which they lied they never took care of the problem when l call them about the problem they never return my calls when l did get hold of them they told l had to pay a additional $350 filing fee what should l have to pay for their mistakes l was force to go to another attorney to help me. They tool my money I would very hard for and never completed the job hopefully you never have to through this

Scam
Upright law is a scam. I paid them $1860 to help me with bankruptcy. They did have an attorney contact me and she was unable to help so I contacted them for a refund the next day. They told me it would be 30-45 days before I would get my refund. That was on April 2,2019 it is now September. 5 months later and countless phone calls only to be told the same lies that my refund is in the system and that I should receive it within 2 weeks. Upright law is a scam they provide a service for almost $2000 the same service that anyone could do for almost nothing. They are liars and cheats. It is sad they are taking advantage of people who are in a desperate situation and making it worse not better. DO NOT fall for their scam. They need to be sued in a class action law suit.
Complete scam
Biggest scam! Do not pay this company a single penny! They gave us wrong information and then when it actually came time to file and we already paid all of our money they wouldn’t refund us for giving us bad information. They claim they never had record of it. We have been trying for over 3 months now to get a refund of some sort and can’t get anything! Now we are out $2,035! Which we already are in a bad financial situation so this just made it worse. Read reviews, there are MANY bad reviews. They are also now operating under a different name.
It makes me want to vomit. Scammed out of $2500.00 by what is supposed to be UPRIGHT LAW, a bunch of kaniving low life thieving lawyers who are so pathetic that they lower themselves to stealing from the elderly, handicapped and otherwise poor people seeking to better their lives. Where is Justice in America ??? Where is law enforcement ??? Where is protecting the innocent ??? HOW THE HELL do they continue to stay in business ??? I have tried contacting them for over a yr. now enquiring about my refund and never get a return call, never get to talk to a representative. How Pathetic are they ???? I can only hope against hope that KARMA will reach out and do what I would if I could which would be to punch then in the mouth and then light them up so I could urinate on them all. I’ve learned through reading these reviews and social media that their doing the same thing to many, many others. How can this be allowed to continue without them being investigated and charged for the crimes they commit. Stealing from people who are obviously too poor and beat down to defend themselves. WHERE IS AMERICAN JUSTICE SYSTEM. Is the Justice System just as corrupt as UPRIGHT LAW. I Don’t understand…..

If you work for or represent this bunch of criminals who prey on the unfortunate members of the public who have worked hard and are just trying to get a fresh start in life. I panicked following my X dumping me and our family. She was living with our disabled daughter and granddaughter and being paid by the state to take care of them due to my being disabled with a broken back. Our daughter passed away leaving me with a beautiful little 6 yr. old granddaughter to try to raise by myself. When the X moved in with her long time boyfriend he advised her to file bankruptcy and leave me holding a bunch of medical debt she was supposed to be making payment on. I panicked and reached out to the good ole internet for help and unfortunately came across UPRIGHT LAW. Knowing no better I fell for their scam, being told they would find me a local attorney who would walk me through the process. I had explained to them that I am disabled and couldn’t drive very far. They hooked me up with a lawyer 150 miles away. She seems like a very nice, honest, trustworthy attorney. I tried to muddle through all the paperwork by myself as it was to far to drive back and forth to her office. I tried getting help by phone but she has a speech impediment making it impossible to understand her over the phone. I got depressed to the point of just going into limbo for a time. Finally I called the attorney to try to resume the process only to find she had withdrawn from the UPRIGHT Law firm stating she had become uncomfortable with their way of doing business and the way they treated their clients. Since that time I have requested a refund from Upright Law and was told they would process it but due to a backlog of refunds it would take about 4-6 weeks. It’s been 6 months now and I have tried calling to inquire about it about 100 times now. I leave messages requesting a call back as you always get put on hold for hours and finally do the call back option which never happens. If that’s not a scam then what is it. Down right theft. Embezzlement, fraud. I have about had it and have been hoping they would do the right thing and just return my money $2500.00 that they stole from me. I just want to get my life back and continue to do my best to raise my granddaughter who is also a victim as this effects her a well. This is just mindboggling that they seem to get away with this. Where is the Law enforcement, where is the justice system. These people are nothing more than educated CRIMINALS who openly steal from the unfortunate who have no resources to protect them/me. PATHETIC UPRIGHT LAW. KARMA AWAITS YOU…

Never signed any type of agreement, and stated on multiple emails that we were not interested in their services after agreeing to $1.00 to speak to potential attorney. Today they stole $175.00 from CC. They are nothing but fraudulent scammers that must be made to answer in court. Contacting Illinois Attorney General’s office today. AVOID THESE SCAMMERS AT ALL COSTS!!

Called and talk to them on june 20th decided id check with another attorney that was local, I didnt sign any papers with upright law , they took 351.00 out of my account, iv called now several times different answer every time now they say they didnt cancel me until july 10th i have to wait 45 days to get my money refunded which i never hired them in the first place. still no refund.. what a joke /scam company taking advantage of others going through a hard times already,, beware

I paid almost a year ago , went to see the attorney he asked for more money , straggled to bring him the rest of the money , he kept making fun of me and my situation in our second appointment after 8 month he did nothing in my case , he set up third one before the third agent called and he said case is closed !!!!! after swallowing 3035 USD he said 10 days lies lies lies , nothing after 10 days called back , they said no 45 days , I realized the trick , the collect people money to give it to others ,

I had a Bankruptcy case with this law firm ..I paid out $898 to them then one day I looked on my upright law and seen that my case had been put on pause so I call them and they say that they can’t find me a lawyer in my area strange thing my mom’s case went through and she joined after me..WTF? I said They have been saying they gonna send my refund check it’s been 2 weeks now..where is my money ??

Took my $351.00 as a deposit June 20th 2019 with no permission, I dint sign any papers, Iv ask and called several ties for my money to be refunded , they say it will in 45 days its day 50 and still hasnt been refunded to my account,,,Big scam, still waiting for my money, Beware !!!!I ended up getting a local attorney . a few hundred more but at least he will represent me in court, today in August 13th still waiting for my refund !
Upright law took my money without providing any services and promised to refund my money back since March 2019 I still have not received my money yet. They have scammed many people out of their money.
