The George Washington University Hospital is Scammer

Took sick at work because of a chest pain DC fire took me to GW Hospital 1: 20pm it took more than 2omins to be triage, after triage they place me in a corner MH5 I was in that corner for more than 45 mins before a doctor came, doctor told me I am going to order chest crazy ect. 2 hrs. Later no chest day ect. Only blood taken.

Ive decided to go the bathroom I almost fell a tech caught me and placed me back into bed. 1 hour later a nurse by the name Bella came and said hi, I will be your nurse today that was it, never saw her again. 2 2/1 hours later I saw her walked by never ask if I was okay or if I needed anything. Within 3 hours and 47mins only blood they took from me nothing else. I asked the doctor for pain medication not even that was given to me, I called my mom she prayed for me the pain went away in a little as no time.

At this hospital no one cares everyone just doing their own thing. Whoever is the medical director needs to take a look into their nursing staff attitude towards caring for patients. The technicians work like a hebrew slaves. This Emergency room should. It be functioning like this. This horrible disgusting and people life is at stake. I am actually writing this from the emergency room. Horrible. 31/2 hours doctor ask
ing if I need some tylenol, please I dont need it. Horrible

  1. Bad Service Provide

the person runs around doing everything else, hands you a cup with no label or name on it, collects it from you while functioning as jack of all trades. there is no chain of continuity and they have no idea if it is your urine or not.

My new pain management center at Holy cross is superb. the level of knowledge and the doctors keeping up with new and old theories as well as the anatomy and physiology of pain is impressive.

  2. All i knew was there I didn't even have a pillow for my bed.

Through incompetent administration. First I was told that there weren’t any rooms available. Then after about 4 hours my nurse in recovery goes up there to find out whats going on.

Well, come to find out there are rooms, but the story they told her was that there weren’t enough nurses on staff. So we keep pushing and I finally get a room at 11PM. I am so out of it I don’t really look around the room. All i knew was there I didn’t even have a pillow for my bed.

  3. Scammer

There seemed to be little communication between doctors, as I had to keep explaining my symptoms. Finally I was admitted to the hospital and brought to a room. Despite having a fever of over 100 degrees the nurses only checked on me every 3 hours or so

  4. Bad Service Provide

Then she had to wait over an hour for medicine to take before leaving. I recently visited a local hospital (central Illinois) and took another daughter for a fractured wrist. In and out x rays and all with a dx in an 1 hr. and 15 minutes.

  5. Scammer

When I got there they said, no. So that meant my wife couldn’t come up either since someone had to stay with her since she’s 8 years old. So I say good bye to them in the lobby, not knowing if I would ever see them again. That really pissed me off. Not really the thing you want right before you go under the knife. So I come out of surgery and go to recovery.

I was only supposed to be there for two hours and then moved to my room. Well, my surgery ended at 2PM but I was in the recovery room (where kids cannot come in either) till 11PM. Why? Through incompetent administration.

  6. He is extremely rude!!!

My review is for the labor and delivery department at this hospital, all i can say is you will be better off having your child at home, not that i would want anyone to try that unless you have the right emergency staff there, but it was a horrible experience for me,

i had my little princess in december and almost lost her,not because she was unhealthy or anything but from the careless nurses and doctors there,i never seen a bunch of kids in my life,I had to be induce and it was horrible, they treat u like crap, and on top of that as my baby’s head was coming out,one little girl was pushing my daughter back in,as she yelled wait, wait,we are not ready yet,

as they rushed about to find tools they should have already had, which cause my daughter to stop breathing, all i can think of was u got to be kidding me,luckily me and my baby made it through the traumatic experience, and we are doing just fine, but if i can help someone else avoid this hospital when it comes to your child’s life, thank you

  7. Worst nurses ever.

My aunt was an admitted patient on the fourth floor. The nursing staff is absoulutely incompetent and rude. My aunt wanted a private room because her roommate and guests were very loud. She was told that she would have to pay extra for the room, which she expected.

After visiting hours were over, they told her that she would have to go down to the second floor to pay. She was connected to an iv and was not feeling well at all. When she got down to the second floor to pay, the payment people said that she has to be accompanied by a nurse before they can accept payment.

So, she had to go back up stairs to get a nurse and down again, The payment people apologized and said that the nurses should know better to have sent her down by herself.

Also, the nursing staff response time is the worst that I have ever seen at a hospital. When I complained to a supervisor, she was not helpful and short with me. The culture of the nursing staff is just bad. Worst nurses ever.

  8. I was here when a friend was in the hospital.

I was here when a friend was in the hospital. The so-called receptionist was no help and appeared to be playing video games. He did not have the time or patience to help.

He growled at me to use the phone to call up to the unit. A so-called patient liaison was supposed to come down but did not. I thank G-d that my father, my husband, and I do not live in the city so we will never be in this hospital.

  9. This is more of a torture clinic than hospital.

This is more of a torture clinic than hospital. I had cancer surgery at this hospital since it was the only one my surgeon practiced at. Right off the bat there were issues.

Upon check in, three different check in spots had three different times for my operation annotated (not to mention my name, contact info, next of kin, etc all being different from one spot to the next). When I called before they said my child could come up to the floor level where my surgery was and wait in the waiting room.

When I got there they said, no. So that meant my wife couldn’t come up either since someone had to stay with her since she’s 8 years old. 12. GW Hospital has become an "ant hill" and you will just be a number to them.

GW Hospital has become an “ant hill” and you will just be a number to them. Every experience at GW reminds you are one of many, many patients. Not good for any hope of personalized care YOU DESERVE as a patient. Surgeries are ALWAYS behind schedule.

The surgical prep room is a joke…like something out of MASH and reminds me of military style care. My 8:00 am “scheduled” surgery was 4 hours late. Did not get a hospital bed until after 9:00 pm at night!! Simply unforgivable. Run do not walk away from this hospital. GW is over booked and DOES NOT provide the quality care YOU DESERVE as a patient.

  13. I had a bad experience with GW hospital

I had a bad experience with GW hospital. They barely fed my husband while he was at the hospital for eight days. They would schedule a procedure in the morning and keep postponing it until he had gone all day without eating. He was already under weight when he entered the hospital. They sent him home with six perscriptions and never discussed them with him.

  14. Run, don't walk from this hospital if you are having any surgery that requires a stay in the ICU!

Run, don’t walk from this hospital if you are having any surgery that requires a stay in the ICU! I recently had brain surgery there and the night I spent in the ICU was no less than a Nightmare that I continue to play over and over in my mind.

From the attending nurses that made serious mistakes in medication causing emergency life threatening results to outright unkindness and disrespect for each other as well as their patients. I heard staff laughing and joking about other patients in their charge. Two nurses flat out lied to my family and argued with one another in front of me.

  15. She seems like a great surgeon.

Visited Dr. Elisa Knusten for a hand orthopedic injury. She treated me with respect and took care of the problem. Lucky for me, I didn’t need surgery, but if I ever do, I’ll be sure to see her again. She seems like a great surgeon.
