The quality of service

The quality of Toyota vehicles is unquestionably high. The quality of service from Serra Toyota is unquestionably terrible. Let me count the ways:

When getting a new car, I understandably visited numerous dealers to check out different makes/models, do a little comparison shopping.

This was less than understandable to the thick-heads at Serra.

I told them up front I was not making a decision that day, was not going to purchase a car that day.

They insisted on wasting vast amounts of my time by having one salesman, manager et al after another enter to repeat giving me the hard sell, asking what it would take to get me to buy a car right then and there, have me repeat “nothing, I’m not going to buy one today” and them ignoring my answer.

In retrospect, I should have just walked out, but I knew I might eventually settle on getting a Prius, so I didn’t want to be rude.

When I did eventually decide to buy one, my return visit was “I don’t know if we can give you any sort of deal.” after the previous “we’ll do anything! how low do you want us to go?!?” sales pitch.

Then they told me the paperwork would be super quick to fill out, by which they meant over an hour, but in fairness they botched said paperwork by putting the wrong address on it.

Then they botched putting the license plate on my new car. Then when I encountered an issue with my new car and called to ask about it, they had no clue.

And don’t forget that they set you up with Southeast Toyota Finance.

Also just terrible – when calling to see why my payment hasn’t been processed, they said it may have been forwarded to a different office but goodness, they had no way to find out.

Or get me any information of any kind. Or have any way to talk to anyone who can find it out.

Or register a complaint about anything, either on the phone or the website they told us to go to while on hold (the hold where they told me every 30 seconds how important customer satisfaction is to them).

Seriously: avoid Serra Toyota.

    He is very straightforward and to the point, so tell him what u need and he will immediately tell you if it can be done. Everyone at Serra Chevrolet works hard to make sure the customer is happy during the entire car buying process.

    They treat every single customer the exact same regardless of their own personal situation. They have an amazing facility with a team that clearly strives for only excellence. And they deserve it!!

    I had tried almost every reputable car dealership in Birmingham and the surrounding area. No one could seem to get me financed and if they could they required an extremely Large down payment! I had to stop putting myself thru this . A few years back I had purchased a Toyota Corolla from Serra Toyota . No hassle ,No games ! Car buying made simple.

    I called Don Calllahan and explained my experience with trying to buy a car. I was exasperated and frustrated . He told me to calm down and come get my car.

    On the day I made an appointment ,Mr. Callahan had to leave early . But he left instructions for the Manager Sidney to help me find a car. I was treated with respect and kindness , even with that embarrassing credit score. In less than an hour I was approved for a Honda Accord with low miles and a car payment that was comfortable and affordable Why did I look elsewhere in the beginning?

    I wasted time when I could have been driving that new Honda around town. Serra Toyota gets you approved, no games no gimmicks . The very best Customer service in car buying!

    from Serra Toyota and will always if possible. They have always been nice, polite and helpful. They are willing to listen and do their best to help you in anyway they can.

    Ahmadou Sow is a great salesperson at Serra Toyota. He is the best we have dealt with in all the ones we have dealt with before. He will do anything on his power to help you. We LOVE Serra Toyota and Ahmadou!!! Thanks

    Unlike Tanner B. I have done business with Serra Toyota a few times, more if you include the service department. I was shocked when I saw your scathing post saying they are scam artists. I have no axe to grind, but I simply know that what you’re saying is not true.

    Tanner, can you think of any condition your car may have been in that would have caused them to offer you 120 % over Kelly Blue Book trade in, private sale, or retail. I can. Think about it. Mass mailings apparently work. You tried and your trade in was worth less than what you thought.

    Moral of the story: sell it outright, and do a straight purchase with no trade. At least you had the good sense to buy a Toyota, as they hold their resale value very nicely.

  14. Literally nothing but the best from Serra Toyota

    IDK about you guys but Brett Hickman was my salesman. With that being said i came looking for a FRS last August, he sold me the car I wanted and the color I wanted not trying to steer me to buying other cars that i wasnt interested in.

    Awesome customer service at all times no problems hands down. Even this past year when i traded my vehicle in for a FJ Cruiser i had absolutely no problems.

    Noting was owed back on my vehicle neither did i have to pay any money up front, so i was able to finance my vehicle and ride away same day with once again the car of my choice. Literally nothing but the best from Serra Toyota

  15. Mostly happy with these folks.

    Mostly happy with these folks. Dealt with issues promptly and courteously. I felt a BIT of pressure, but it worked out well in the end.

    If I were to make a suggestion – it would be for them to ease up a tad on the pressure at times. It’s certainly not the norm for them, but they’re capable of it.
