Awful! Run away if you can. Selene Finance told me my home was in active bankruptcy litigation. I’ve never filed for bankruptcy.

I had a near heart attack and spent hours trying to resolve the situation (they refused to talk to me and provided my supposed lawyers info, who denied having any file or case).

The company then discovered it was an error in flagging my home when it was a neighbors home that was in litigation.

They then proceeded to give me the neighbors name and property address (major privacy violation).

This was in addition to several other issues. I’ve never been able to make a payment online.

They call like a collections company if you’re even five days late on your mortgage payment.

Never experienced worse service from a finance company!

    I tried to contact this shady company with the shady website and fake images and voicemail only # but was not able to get a hold of anyone nor did anyone call me back or return my emails.

    Fast forward last Friday my insurance company calls me telling me they received a letter from Selene stating the house was vacant. WTF the house has had tenants for almost a year,

    Even if no one was in the house for months, my mortgage is always paid, my insurance is paid, utilities paid and someone is maintaining it. I told insurance company everything that was going on, the notice, the shady company, the rental (which the house is insured as and has been for over a year)

    We tried to contact Selene, day 1 on hold 1 hour, day 2 on hold 48 min. day three the guy just kept repeating himself “contact insurance company” That is all he said. How does that explain why someone came to my house, put an abandoned notice on door like they do before a foreclosure and then send a letter to my insurance company. They never tried to contact us first.

    Selene Finance is a terrible mortgage company. I have been going through the same issue with them for almost 3 years. I went through a loan modification with them and they were reporting me as late to the credit bureaus. When in I first notice the bad reporting I contacted them and an agent told me it would be corrected when the modification was done. After the modification process the reporting was still there.

    I tried disputing this with 3 credit bureaus and it was not changed. I later tried to dispute this information with Selene and they still refuse to make this right. So, today I call to speak with someone by the name last name of Ramsey. He was extremely rude and so,

    I asked to speak with his supervisor or another supervisor and he refused. They have failed to show me proof that I was ever late making a payment because it does not exist. I have had a previous modification with another loan company and I never had an experience like this before. If you have a mortgage and your loan is sold to Selene Finance, please do everything you can to find another one.

    We have letters from Selene stating send proof of August 2014 payment we did and Selene stated oops sorry it was Septembers that was missing, we sent proof of Septembers payment and then it goes back to August was missing.

    My husband and I recently sold the house and cannot obtain a construction loan because Selene has reported us late 15 months straight because of this mess. We have contacted Selene again disputing the late reporting on our credit and still have not heard anything from them with the exception of another 30 notice to add to our collection.

    This has to be the worst mortgage company! I like to pay using Bill Pay. Send on the 1st of the month and money scheduled to reach Selene on the 10th. Well, their “debt collectors” start calling right away for the money. I explain how bill pay works, but no one takes notes so you have to explain any issue again and again. The address I am sending the payment is the one Selene provided; I hope it’s correct.

    Now, I have a problem with on-line service. I tried to register so I could look at my account but somehow my password was messed up. So I tried to reset the password. Nope! No can do! Can’t reset password without being registered and I can’t get registered without a password change.

    It’s like a catch 22. They think I should get a new email address; I suggested they get me some technical support. I hope it will come soon.

    After all of that they still did not have the payoff correct. They still had over $1300 of my money in escrow. They mailed that check way after the fact to the closing attorney’s office, which had no further interest in my case, instead of mailing it to me.

    I did not get the check until about 6 weeks later. They also changed their website to where it costs $30 to make an online payment! I learned this a month or two before I sold the house, and I had to mail the payment in because no one is going to pay a $30 fee to make an online payment. This business is extremely incompetent and needs to be put out of business.

    This is the worst mortgage lender ever! I would give them a zero if that was an option. I paid every mortgage payment on time for years, but when I was finally able to sell my townhouse they took 2 weeks to release the payoff information to the closing attorney. I would try to call and they would not release it, saying they could not discuss it because I was represented by an attorney.

    How does a mortgage company not know that the closing attorney does not represent the seller, but instead represents the mortgage company of the buyer? Furthermore, when the closing attorney’s office called, they said they could not release the payoff info to them either. The closing had to be pushed back nearly a week! After all of that they still did not have the payoff correct.

    This is the WORST company ever!!!!!!!!!! I have owned 5 different homes with NEVER any issues. My mortagage was sold off them over a year ago and the nightmare began. Shortly after I started to receive monthly statements asking to contact them that I was either in bankuptcy or deflault NEITHER ARE TRUE!

    We have spent countless hours on the phone with consumer service with promises to escalate the issue and no return calls. They will only accept paper checks through the mail or they online automated withdrawals (which I refuse to ulltize because of poor service) as result there is 2-3 weeks lag in a payment being posted totally absurd.

    I was told plainly that I have go back to full payments to avoid this “issue” in the future. They’re refusing to process biweekly checks mailed directly from the bank as payments; instead the biweekly option is only available by using their own ACH program.

    Payments that are sent biweekly are being processed as partial payments and end up sitting in suspense/misapplied instead of being applied as designated upon arrival.

    Regardless of the payment amount or schedule, they should be processed immediately as directed! These people knowingly put a customer into a position where they could end up with late payments due to Selene’s inability to correctly handle account payments!!

    To top it off, the attitudes by at least 2 out of the 5 I spoke with were rude, condescending, and dismissive. When callbacks were requested, they were not provided by all but one representative.

    All I can say is if you’re unfortunate enough to end up with Selene Fiannce, GET OUT AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN. CYA, and keep ALL your documentation when dealing with these slimy people.

    They’re using coercion and fraud account handling practices to force account holders into poor standing by restricting methods of account payment, and/or payment schedules. They intentionally misapply/mishandle/withhold or lose payments entirely as a result, against the directive narrated on the method of payment and/or against the wishes of the customer.

    Three payments-two of which that were due for the current month but paid in the previous month on schedule-were misapplied even though they were marked/confirmed as biweekly payments. The third payment was MIA…first told it hadn’t arrived, second was told it was sent back, and third time told “it literally just arrived yesterday” (two weeks late, which has never happened before, and it was mailed out direct early as usual by the bank).

    I have been trying for over 6 months to get documentation from Selene Finance to show where a $850 payment I made in August of 2018 was deposited into my escrow account. Every time I talk to customer service they tell me it was put to my escrow account, but they cannot provide me any documentation.

    I haven’t received anything in the mail or email, which I have requested several times now. I’m tired of the run around and obvious deception at this point.

  15. ABSOLUTELY terrible!!!!

    Terrible!!! We fell behind on our mortgage and our loan was sold to Selene. Our interest rate when from 3.25% to 6.0% and our payment increased by nearly $300 a month… but what could we do about it?? We never got our tax form for 2018 and it’s NOT available online.

    I called to get a replacement. The first call was disconnected as soon as the rep picked up, and the second rep took SEVEN minutes to verify my identity. I asked for a supervisor and she LAUGHED pretending she couldn’t hear me on the line then hung up.

    I called back again, they wouldn’t transfer me to a supervisor until I did all the verification AGAIN then kept me on hold for 28 minutes. The rep claimed the ONLY SUPERVISOR available was still on another call and transferred me to a nameless voicemail, even though I told her I didn’t want to be transferred. ABSOLUTELY terrible!!!!
