Optima Tax Relief

Complete Rip-Off

Optima Tax Relief is a complete rip-off and I will be contacting my attorney, the news station, and anyone else who will listen.

They scammed the wrong one!.. They took $2800.00 of my money only to tell me 6 months later that I make too much money so they couldn’t help me.

I contacted the IRS and was able to set up a payment plan MYSELF.

These crooks at OTR couldn’t even do that. Count your days OTR because after my Attorney is finish dealing with you, you will NEVER be able to scam anyone else again!

P.S. DO NOT TRUST THESE POSITIVE REVIEWS! I WAS TOLD BY AN EX-EMPLOYEE OF OTR THAT THEY PAY PEOPLE FOR POSITIVE REVIEWS, SO BEWARE AND CONTACT THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK!

  1. Optima Tax Relief is a scam

November 2020 I hired Optima Tax Relief to help with IRS outstanding tax payment. I paid $24,000.00 for service. For two years Optima Tax Relief even could not establish some kind of communication with IRS.

  2. Optima Screwed Me

Fraudulent advertising, malpractice, huge damages, looking for recommendation for legal counsel to a file a lawsuit against Optima. IRS supports claim. Please contact me. Thank you.

  3. Pay A Lot For Services, Get Little/Poor Service

They only like to be on the phone with you, at times it’s convenient for them, having no respect for requests for email.
They will take on a state case, when they really should not, and when the do, any communication starts with ‘about your IRS case’.
They switch your case manager has your case shifts, but there’s is then no consistency in what is happening. Some staff/case mangers are poorly trained in how to deal with escalated customers. They will tell you things but not provide reasons or anything in writing. They were done with the IRS case, they’d done 3 yrs of back taxes; said we’re getting a refund for x$s, -got larger refund, to find out later, still owed for a different year, that we did not know about. – then tried to suggest I pay a large amount towards that, that I did not have. Still nothing in writing, nothing clarifying, until I spent 2 hours talking to IRS. They were working on a OIC with state, and I get a phone call telling me I owe money to feds, no one says why, & the exact amount was a refund. I fired them from IRS case. Over a month ago, they tell me the OIC is a no go, ‘but we’ll see what we can do’. While they are looking, I get notice of garnishment. I get new case worker, I fill out more financials, then get garnished. I call case worker & he says “chill” & ‘what garnishment?’. A supervisor has made contact, and I said email only, and they have gone silent. I can’t even seem to fire them in a way that works

  4. HUGE SCAM…. Wish I would of seen this site

I had some tax issues with my employer not filing correctly and also some issues with not paying extra due to not having heath insurance a few years back. I tried severe times to talk to someone at the IRS but could not get through.

I called optima tax and they said, after I paid 500.00 dollars they could help me but it would take another 2500.00 to figure it all out.

After several months I was told I make to much money now and was put on payment plan! Still have not received an explanation from IRS.

Optima is a huge scam!!!!!! We need to file a class action suit!

  5. Play on fear of IRS

I owed IRS 10,000 and payed optima 10,000 for there service it’s a rip off they charged me to much. I wish it was a way to get some of my $$$ back I don’t think it’s right

  6. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH OPTIMA TAX

I had the same issues ad many others and it lasted 4 years with no resolution. Now I owe almost double due to fees and interest and they did nothing but file extensions for $5000. I am interested in doing a class action suit and if you are please email me at [email protected].

  7. Optima Tax Relief BIG SCAM!!!

I have requested there services about a year ago, to help to reduce or alleviate my current tax debt.
Even after paying them $4,680.00 for there services, which could of been better used to pay down my IRS debt instead. As of the date of this review, I have not received any good results in my favor. I am being requested that I upload a completed 433-d form which I did so I can start paying $200 a month which is exactly what I was doing prior to contacting Optima Tax relief in the first place.

I have requested an escalation on my case many times, I requested a callback from a Manager with no avail. I had numerous meeting scheduled by Optima Tax Relief that no one ever responded too. This whole experience has been a joke.. They haven’t done anything for me or for my case that I couldn’t have done for myself. All they do is take your money. DO NOT USE OPTIMA TAX RELEIF!!!!

Continuation…. After leaving the above review, I was contacted by Optima Tax Relief by the “Executive Review Board team” immediately to pretty much tell me that they want to close my case and terminate the relationship and as a courtesy wants to refund $950 of the $4650 I paid them to do nothing… I took a picture of the email received and posted it to this review.

After doing some research I have found that this a normal practice and I am not the only one that has fell victim to this scam. Do your research folks. Go to the BBB and look at all the 1000 of bad reviews that have been posted about OTR. you can also go to dirtyscam.com and see many more.. There is even a Facebook Group dedicated to Optima Tax Relief SCAMS!!! Remember to look at my picture of the email received for verification. I will be obviously escalated this to get my money back… I will be opening/filing a case with the BBB as well.. Can you say Class Action Lawsuit!!!

  8. Optima Relief is a scam company

They ran every tax scam they could with me. They took my money and did nothing to resolve my case. There needs to be a class action suit against this company.

  9. Optima tax is a rip off

I’m reading people were took for 4k? They took us for 10k and offered 2500 refund. There is a special place in hell for these sorry excuse of human beings, then again they are lawyers. Ever wonder where lawyer jokes come from? Do yourself a favor and stay far away from these sharks. Call the IRS yourself.

  10. Optima took $5000 and did nothing

Same story as others, they did nothing for a few years after I had been making payments, then they dropped me, never even filed one year. The work the6 were supposed to do, has been done with a local tax professional that cost just over $300. They took 5k, offered me 1000 back as a ‘courtesy’. So 4k and making payments for another year or more for nothing? Everyone I have ever talked to there, has been rude / mean. Cannot believe I fell for the initial scam. They are supposed to help people but all they do is take the money and leave them in financial ruins. Horrible, horrible greed that run this place!

  11. They’ve recently scammed me for 3,000.00

They’ve recently (last April) scammed me for over 3,000.00, and when I told them that I was fed up and that I wanted my money back, they offered me 300.00 dollars of it. They were waiting to say that I wanted my money back because the guy hurried up and showed me the 300.00 refunds.????

  12. OPTIMA TAX RELIEF IS A BIG SCAM!

Optima Tax Relief took $4,500 from me, believing they could reduce my tax debt. I owed money for s short sale of my house. The sales guy at Optima all but promised me it would be gone because it was my residence house and not a rental property.

He knew exactly how much money I had in the bank. After two years, they came back with the answer I had too much money, and the IRS forgave nothing. Optima knew this at the start–they all but promised me debt relief.

After I complained to the management, they offered me $ 600, some odd dollars to settle my complaint with a stipulation I could never write or speak ill of their crooked outfit.

DO NOT BUY INTO THEIR ILLUSION OF A TAX BREAK IF YOU HAVE ANY MONEY AT ALL. They are not only deceptive-they are lousy at doing basic office tasks. Also, they are incompetent with paperwork, and one hand does not know what the other is doing. Repeated faxes, mailings lost by them.

  13. After a year no resolve. No Communication. You never talk to an attorney except the first day when they take your money.

Optima Told me it would be 3 -6 months to resolve my case. It’s been a year now. And they wanted to close my topic said they won’t even submit a request to the IRS cause I have a good job now. The amount of interest they have cost me in the thousands. I had to spend 6500 for another attorney to fix everything they did wrong. DONT be fooled; ask the person on the phone if they are a certified tax attorney.

Don’t let them give you advice or tell you what to do unless they are a certified attorney. I have already filed a BBB complaint that was closed with their automated response of we have reached out and have open lines of communication. I would be glad to join any class-action lawsuit.

BS… I have not heard a word from them. I see how they keep their BBB rating and lie to individuals. They don’t resolve anything. Cant even prove to me where the money went. I guess just into their advertising fund. I have filed a complaint with the CA DA office. We will see where that goes. At least I have proof of their lies.

  14. Class action lawsuit

I will be happy to join a class action if there is one

  15. Took $4000 and never did anything

As soon as they had my $4000, they started hounding me to show that I couldn’t afford to pay taxes owed. I told them repeatedly that I could pay, but that I didn’t owe anything.
They refused to put anything in writing except constant requests for my financial status so they could make an “Offer in Compromise”.
When I finally had enough, they closed my file an refused me access to the site. When I sent them a certified letter stating that if they did not respond in writing, I would see them in court, they responded with another phone call.
