Optima Tax Relief

Complete Rip-Off

Optima Tax Relief is a complete rip-off and I will be contacting my attorney, the news station, and anyone else who will listen.

They scammed the wrong one!.. They took $2800.00 of my money only to tell me 6 months later that I make too much money so they couldn’t help me.

I contacted the IRS and was able to set up a payment plan MYSELF.

These crooks at OTR couldn’t even do that. Count your days OTR because after my Attorney is finish dealing with you, you will NEVER be able to scam anyone else again!

P.S. DO NOT TRUST THESE POSITIVE REVIEWS! I WAS TOLD BY AN EX-EMPLOYEE OF OTR THAT THEY PAY PEOPLE FOR POSITIVE REVIEWS, SO BEWARE AND CONTACT THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK!

  1. Definitely A Scam

Like the previous person said, I was out of $5,000. They didn’t do a thing for me. I contacted the IRS and they help me set up my own payment plan. I could have used that $5k to pay down on the taxes that I owed. Definitely a scam

  2. Don't waste your time and money!

I did better for myself with two phone calls and 3 emails to the IRS than Optima did while supposedly working on my case for 6 months

  3. I am starting a class action lawsuit. Email me and I will take your info to make sure you are on the list so you can get your refund.

My father was scammed by them and I am already in touch with a firm in California that is ready to take the case. Email me with your name and address and details of your case and I will tell you who to call to be part of the class action lawsuit so that you can get your full money back. I am not asking for anything I am doing this because they scammed my family and scam companies should be held accountable and you all deserve a refund, especially considering you guys are being scammed during an IRS audit which is damaging in and of itself.

I will respond to all emails regarding this as soon as possible. Put OPTIMA SCAMMED ME as the subject line so it can be easier for me to see your email.

  4. Will join class action!!!

Recently figured out Optima Tax Relief has been scamming my boyfriend, and during a pandemic no less. He was trying to do the right thing and this scam relies on peoples’ lack of understanding the in IRS and taxes to rob people. They know that hard working people don’t have the time to sift through all the red flags. Made a concise complaint on the BBB website which was not posted bc they claim to have made a “good faith” attempt. They offered him a refund on ONE payment and have stolen thousands. As many of you have said, they messed with the wrong person. I don’t know if any of you can reach out to us, but we will be making noise and looking for a class action to join. Community sticks together against predators like these.

  5. My Name Anita and Alfred Johnson
Optima tax relief scam us out of 5000.00
They tragg the case for four years

  6. I hired Optima tax relief to assist me with my over $50000 bill with the IRS. I needed Optima to do three things for me: 1) review my previous tax returns to determine if I actually owed the $50000 amount, 2) complete three years of tax returns and 3) work with the IRS on my behalf to lower my total amount to an amount I could handle. Optima did one years tax return 2013 did it wrong. I paid Optima over $5000 for incorre

  7. Optima Tax \Relief is a scam and a rip-off

I had reached an agreement for payment of back taxes with the IRS, although the IRS could not be specific about what I owed for so the agreement was never implimented. I asked for and received an extension to hire an outside agency that would audit my account and amend my filed tax returns if needed. In October2019, I hired Optima with a specific set of instructions. I was assured by David Choe, Sylvia Rosas, Catalina Hernandez that these issues would be addressed. By January I was receiving letters from the IRS that stated that I had defaulted on an agreement and was fined an even greater amount. I called Optioma and was assured by Catallina Hernandez that they had not entered me into an agreement without my consent and never would. I began receiving more mail from IRS stating that I would be sued over delinquent account, I again called Optima and spoke with Joanna Rauda who told me three times that I was not entered into an agreement without my consent. On the 28th of January I was sent an Email from her stating they had entered into an agreement without my consent. I was lied to several times by two different representatives and told I didn’t know what I was talking about, very rudely I might add. I kept trying to contact Optima, many emails sent no answer. Many calls no call backs. So not only did the Optima representatives lie to me, which is recorded. But they entered into an agreement without my consent and with holding that information from me ( I had to call the IRS and find out myself). But instead of getting me out of debt with the IRS they got me into MORE trouble and debt with the IRS. I have attempted many times via voice and E-mail to resolve this situation. No results. I tried to explain to them my daughter had just passed on Feb. 9,2020 and I had to borrow money for her funeral expenses, but they didn’t care they still took payment out of my account for a job they knew they already screwed up and set me up for failure. This company cheats and lies. This company should do the right thing, and give me back the money they took over and above the initial investigative fee. The appropriate thing to do would for this company to take responsibility and also compensate me for the increased debt incurred to me by the IRS, due to Optima representative getting me into an agreement without my knowledge or consent, and the fines for not meeting the obligations of an agreement I didn’t know I was in due to optima representatives lying and hiding the fact.

    1. Yeah right

One out of how many failures? Yeah amazing “rolls eyes”

  8. STAY AWAY FROM THIS INCOMPETENT BUNCH!!

Optima’s been “working” on my case for years, and now the IRS are garnishing my pay since October 2019. They don’t seem to care much about that, assuring me that their “professionals” are working very hard to get a “temporary” release for the garnishment. Temporary? WTF!!

After notifying them that all communications will have to be by phone in future because my cable and internet is being cut due to not being able to pay it anymore, they keep on sending documents to my e-mail that need to be signed. I went to the local library to use a computer to check my e-mail. I’m a truck driver out on the road most of the time, so I’m effectively cut off from internet access.
To try to call the so-called expert professionals or any tax preparer or case manager has proved virtually impossible. There’s always someone taking and screening the call and then promising that the person will return your call “within 48 hours.” 48 hours?? WTF!!
Do not deal with these people. Avoid them like the plague. I’m filing a complaint with the BBB as well.

  9. Don't go with Optima.

My experience with this company was awful, I paid the $495 fee to get started to help my hubby figure the I.R.S. thing out. Absolutely no communication with them. When I tried to contact them, it turned out that my guy quit his job, they assured me that my credit card didn’t get charged for the 3000 dollars I would have been charged.

I switched to Rushtax Relief, they are better I think. They filed taxes for us, we haven’t seen any levies, letters, etc., we are just waiting for the results. Don’t go with Optima…..

  10. I just saw they have treated other honorable vets shabbily. SICK!

Hello Veterans, Friends and Family. My 88 year old father, an Air Force veteran of two wars was completely scammed out of thousands of dollars by Optima who saved NOT ONE PENNY of tax relief for him. To add insult to injury when the family finally came to his rescue OPTIMA had bilked him of over $7,000 and kept asking for paper, after paper, after paper each time we would ask what was happening with the account.

OPTIMA NEVER DID ANYTHING SUBSTANTIAL to assist him. My father died stressed out from the huge debt and hit to his finances and a wait of three years for nothing! There was barely enough in his accounts for a burial. When we asked Optima for all the paperwork they did on his account so we could review it, they gave us NOT ONE SHRED OF PAPER!

It has been months!!! I believe, there is a special place in hell for companies like this, who prey on older Americans trust, and keep balls up in the air, to keep money in their pockets! I can’t believe a company like this is allowed to exist. In my opinion, DO NOT trust one dollar of your hard earned money to OPTIMA. I just saw they have treated other honorable vets shabbily. SICK!

  11. DO NOT CALL OPTIMA TAX RELIEF OR GIVE THEM ANY MONEY!!!

DO NOT CALL OPTIMA TAX RELIEF OR GIVE THEM ANY MONEY!!! This company is a waste of your time and they want to drain your bank account. We made a payment for a percentage of what was owed to the IRS and 7 months later the only solution was to let the debt expire in hopes that they wouldn’t enforce collection.

They were supposed to file an injured spouse report which we later found was never filed. They were supposed to be in contact with the IRS but yet the IRS still started to garnish the paycheck before a settlement was confirmed.

Optima does not return your calls or emails, there were times that we did not hear from them for months and wondered where our case was. We are very disappointed in their services and would NEVER recommend anyone using this company. The IRS was way more helpful with payment options and answering questions.

  12. These people are frauds, scammers, thieves!

These people are frauds, scammers, thieves! They weave a web around you once you contact them for help! They mislead you, lie to you, take money from you and do nothing. Their modus operandi is that they first take money from you as retainer fees, which supposedly refundable in first 15 days. But once they get the money, they go silent, until the 15 days are over.

That is their “Investigation Phase”. They tell you to send all your financial information, pay stubs, bank accounts and bills. In fact you do the work. You gather the information. You fax it to them, or email it to them! They just take your money.

Once the 15 days are over, then they contact you that Investigation phase is over, and “Resolution Phase” begins. In the meantime, they should be representing your case with the IRS. In my case, contacted IRS agent, and Optima had made no effort to even present my case to IRS. Instead, they contacted me and presented the “Resolution” !

According to them the process could take from a month to 12 months, which means my tax burden could get double or triple. They want me to pay them to tell me that I may be able to pay of the tax debt in smaller installments!! Talking to IRS, I found out that they did not even present my case to IRS, let alone making an effort to get it reduced or waived!

So, in other words, they want me to pay them so my tax debt and their bank balances could grow leaps and bound! They do not guarantee anything you your favor. Sure! Because, they don’t do anything for you! Who is checking !! I am seriously thinking about talking to my attorney, and take them to court. DO NOT FALL INTO THEIR TRAP!

IN MOST CASES YOU CAN RESOLVE YOUR OWN ISSUES WITH IRS. YOU DON’T NEED TO PAY THESE ********* TO MAKE IT WORSE FOR YOU. I RESOLVED MY ISSUES WITH IRS ON MY OWN IN 15 MINUTES. WITH NO HELP FROM THESE GOONS !!

  13. And did absolutely nothing.

They charged me 10% of what I owed IRS. Then ask for information I don’t have. And did absolutely nothing.

  14. STAY AWAY!

These people do not have english as their first language. They do not listen to the customer. They will drain thousands of dollars from your bank account for “services” that you can do yourself. STAY AWAY!
