Hendrick Chevrolet

The worse experience ever.

Doing business with Hendrick Chevrolet dealership has been the worse experience ever. First of all, let me just say that I do not recommend them because they are very rude, unprofessional and shady.

I purchased a vehicle from this place on August 9th and when I attempted to make my first payment on September 6th, the finance company stated they had no record of my contract.

I reached out to the dealership and was then told they just needed to do a new contract so, I went back in and signed a new contract and thought everything was done.

A few days later I began getting calls from numerous people from the dealership stating that I needed to come in so I did.

When I arrived they sent out their very rude sales manager Andrew who then told me that my deal did not go through and I had to return the car.

I advised him that I would return it as soon as I could get my daughter’s belongings out. At this point he became belligerent and called me several racial slurs and got in my face.

Then he demanded that I return the vehicle after I had already told him I would bring it in, he threatened to call the police on me.

I then reached out to the general manger Tee Thomas who was just as bad and did nothing but lie. He claimed to have addressed the issue, but I assure you he did not.

The deal fell through because they failed to follow the guidelines specified by the finance company and they did not even acknowledge that they screwed up.

The manager had me come back in stating that he was going to fix it, but he did not.

Instead, he done nothing but lie and waste my time.

I am now out of money for registering and putting insurance on a vehicle that had to be returned.

DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP TO PURCHASE A VEHICLE!

I ended up with 14 inquiries on my credit that I did not authorize and my credit score took a 29 point hit because of it.

I told them up front that I did not want my credit ran more than twice, but they done it anyway.

BUYERS BEWARE!! This place will do anything to get a sale, even if it is not on the up and up.

  1. Never Again

Called in to see if they would help me recover the radio code for my suburban. They insist on a minimum charge of at LEAST $85 to “Service” my vehicle. the battery had been out while I was working on it and the anti-theft had kicked in.

This is SUPPOSED to be a simple verification of ownership and a code lookup, not a chance for Hendrick to make a fast buck on a customer. Shame on them.

  2. If I could give a negative number I would. Stay away.

Went in to get some information on a vehicle I saw on their website. I was handed off to a 12 year old salesman who obviously didn’t understand that I was looking for information only. I was then handed off to a so called senior salesman who attempted to use high pressure sales tactics to try and get me to pull the trigger on a vehicle I had never seen.

Are you kidding me??? Very offensive, very rude, very arrogant and I’ll never set foot in the place ever again. If they’re not getting any $$ out of you they could care less. The general attitude was “here sign this paperwork and do what we tell you to do”.

The most uncomfortable situation I’ve ever been in at a car dealership. Purchased 3 other vehicles there when it was Ivan Leonard. Never again. Find another Chevy dealer. I wouldn’t recommend Hendrick Chevrolet to anyone. They don’t even deserve a 1 out of 4 stars. If I could give a negative number I would. Stay away.

  3. Buy a car from Andrew!!

Andrew Johnson just helped me buy a new (to me) car. He was extremely friendly and eager to help. He was very personable and made me feel at ease through the buying process.

I gave him a bit of a hard time, but he was so cool and helpful through all of it. I feel like Andrew has my back with this sale and afterwards. Buy a car from Andrew!!

  4. Scammer

I go to the dealership Saturday at Noon and after 20 minutes they finally locate the ticket and give me the truck, un-repaired. In the process of the search I ask “Don’t you have Reynolds & Reynolds operating system for this delaer?”

The guy helping me says “Yes.” Can’t you look on one of these computers and see the status of the truck repair order?” I ask. “Yes THEY can, I can’t, I’m the new guy.” says the guy I’m talking to.

  5. Must be roadtesting to Miami.

Took the church’s(Steel City Community Church) box van to Hendrick Chevrolet in Hoover Wedensday A.M. to have some recalls performed on it. Imagine that, a Chevrolet that has recalls!. Anyway, the service advisor who wrote it up, Darren Pirkle, (after 20 minutes) told me the shop was full and it would take a few days.

I informed him that as long as I could get it Saturday that was O.K. “No problem” he said, “I will call with updates.” Never heard a word. I called Friday at 1:20 PM, after 3 attempts, I finally got him on the phone. “Let me check to see where he is(whoever “he”is) on it, hold on.”

He comes back to the phone and informs me “he” must be on a road test, “I will call you as soon as he gets back.” Never heard a word. Must be roadtesting to Miami.

  6. Extremely great service.

Extremely great service. The location is quite convenient as well. Sales were very nice and helpful and although negotiation took a while everything was done perfectly.

  7. Scammer

I asked him why did it take him three weeks to figure that out, and his response was I’m so sorry I’m not sure how I missed it. I called and had the alert removed, and three weeks later my vehicle was delivered and the paperwork was signed.

I was told that the finance guy would send me copies of the paperwork I signed so I could get my registration the next day, and that the paperwork would be overnighted.

That was on 03-MAR-17 and it is now 18-APR-17, and I have not received any paperwork. I’ve called numerous times and left messages for the finance guy and the general manager but NOONE has responded.

  8. He is extremely rude!!!

I had already explained to the salesman I would not be trading a car in and I was paying cash, he said to get the price he was giving me (yes the inflated price) I would have to finance the car for at least three months then I could just pay it off. I was furious and told him they wasted my time by not advertising the true price of the car and I explained why.

  11. I would say DO NOT go there! Whole experience is a run around!

I had looked online for a new Tahoe and Hendrick had the best price. There were two black Tahoes that I was interested in. When we got there, Jeremy Ivy put us with a salesman who had been doing this 2 wks. I never got to see the 2 I was interested in. We drove to another lot to see a red Tahoe which had a bonus sticker for extra off.

We drove a similar Tahoe to the lot, but the one we went to see, didn’t have any gas in it at all and the salesman thought we wouldn’t make it to the gas station. I looked in it and it was very nice. We went back to the dealership to find out the price. It was around $14,000 more than the other, however it was nicer. We were just trying to get a car that day!

We signed all the paperwork with Lonnie Andry the finance manager. Then we were told we couldn’t leave with it because there was a recall that needed to be fixed the next morning. We left and I didn’t get my car for 2 more days! Then when I went to the DMV to change my tag over, I found out they didn’t charge me city or county taxes when I financed. I had to pay over $800 unexpectedly to get my tag changed.

I have called the finance manager to let him know, he said it was their mistake and would refund some of that $. He’s been out of town and you get how it’s going. If they do refund me, I will change my post. But, I would say DO NOT go there! Whole experience is a run around!

  12. Don't waste your time.

Don’t waste your time. They will tell you they have a vehicle there and available then when you come in, the car is at another lot and you will have to pay a transfer fee if you want to look at it. Bait and switch is not the way to get customers.

  15. Awful customer service.

which time they informed me they wouldn’t sell me the truck. BUT THEY would find me another one, and they did. Five years older and double the miles, but at the same price.

It took me over three weeks to even get my money back. Remember, they were going to hole my check, but deposited it. They ended up tying up my money for over five weeks. Oh yea, I recommend they highly if you like being taken advantage of.
