The Worst mortgage company

Arvest Central Mortgage Co Is The Worst mortgage company I ever dealt with. My first mortgage through the builder was later transferred to this company, so I didn’t have a choice.

  1. we then emailed and faxed all of it.

The main problem with this company is that when you call and speak with someone they are ever so helpful and understanding. However the reality is far from this. When you bring this little matter to their attention you are informed that they have no choices as they are run/owned by Funny Mae or it is the big bad computers fault, So no matter what they say, the actions are not the same. Case in point.

Last August my husband had to have a total hip replacement, we knew he would be out of work for three months. We also knew that his disability insurance would not cover very much, so being honest mature people we contacted Central Mortgage, We were told of several options, such as a forbearance, they sent us the forms, which we filled out and gathered all the papers they asked for, we then emailed and faxed all of it.

  2. Customer service representatives are very unprofessional.

Customer service representatives are very unprofessional. Payment method are very outdated, and charge you a processing fee if pay online.

  3. AGAIN I WOULD RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

These guys are ridiculous!! I make all my payments through auto bill pay online. Through a change in my escrow they changed my payment amount by $38.00. Due to this change my payment was short a few months by $38.00. They sent my whole payment of 1605 back to my bank account (returned it) because it was $38 short. instead of just billing me the difference. In doing this they jeopardized my credit report because it was making it look like I was late on my payment when in reality I was not. they don’t care about your credit and returning the payments says to me that maybe they are trying to keep the principle higher to collect more interest.

I would highly recommend staying away from this company!!! I’m a 30 year army vet and a CEO of a company myself. I have multiple houses and have never seen a mortgage company this incompetent to where they put your credit in jeopardy due to their practices. AGAIN I WOULD RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

  4. it should not take anyone that long to do one thing.

My loan with Central Mortgage recently got paid off and transferred to another mortgage company because I refinanced my home. My November mortgage should not have been paid because they received the funds for the loan payoff. But they took it anyways. Now they said it takes 14 days or more to give me MY money back. MY MONEY! Not theirs, mine. I work with customers everyday. Regardless of the size of business, it should not take anyone that long to do one thing.

  5. Scammer

I have had dozens of mortgages (commercial properties, single family homes, condos, townhomes) with multiple lenders and Central Mortgage / Arvest is by far the worst. In addition to issues mentioned by other posts (e.g., payment fees), make sure to check your escrow account for property tax withdrawals that might not result in actual payments for weeks, if at all.

  6. Customer service is horrible.

Customer service is horrible. Unwilling to work with its customers. Don’t waste your time.

  7. Just had mortgage transferred to them.

Just had mortgage transferred to them. They Charge for online payments. That’s ridiculous since they also want you to go paperless. Not a good way to start off with new customer. I hope I don’t run into any other the other problems that have been described in other reviews

  8. I had no issues for the longest time, just paid my monthly bill and went along my merry way.

I had no issues for the longest time, just paid my monthly bill and went along my merry way. But starting in October of last year, I started living through hell. They claimed to not have my flood insurance on file, which I then received from my condo association (they pay for it) and sent to them. Then I got a second and final notice to send the flood insurance. We sent it yet again.

Then I saw they added their own flood insurance to my escrow account, which I then had to spend over the course of 2 days trying to rectify the situation. Then they wouldn’t take a mortgage payment because it wasn’t ‘in the full amount’ despite the fact that I didn’t pay the full amount because I wasn’t paying for the flood insurance that they purchased for me despite me giving them proof multiple times that I had flood insurance.

  9. Like many my loan was sold to Arvest Central Mortgage

Like many my loan was sold to Arvest Central Mortgage, leaving me with no choice as to whom I would be “stuck” with for many years. I have requested on three separate phone calls a coupon book in order to make my payments.

Since they charge $5 per transaction to pay online ($60 a year), I decided to pay my mortgage the 1980s way…by mail. They have not come through on sending me a coupon book and I tried to order on their website whereas I was informed I do not qualify for getting the coupon book.

This appears the classic “we’re going to squeeze as much money as we can out of you and manipulate our policies in order to do so.” I do not believe Arvest cares about their customers. If you have another option for a mortgage, refinancing or any type of loan I would avoid Arvest Central Mortgage.

  10. They have lied to me on other occasions and I will leave them as soon as I can refi to another company.

These guys are the WORST! My credit union sold them my mortgage and they have been a nightmare to deal with. Their website routinely is screwed up so I had to stop making payments that way.

Their phone payment system is just as bad. It does not record your banking info so you have to enter it each month. And it does not compare you entry to previous entries to verify a correct number.

  11. Appraiser comp homes just didn't match up at all.

We attempted to refinance our home with Arvest/Central Mortgage Co … at first all sounded great and Joshua was helpful. We have a 2nd Mortgage also with a different bank so tried to combine into one fixed rate … no problem we were assured just need to do an appraisal ($700 fee).

So the appraisal person shows up in torn up jeans with holes and looking like a mess … as if she was in the middle of painting a home or something. She spends about 10 minutes max at our house and leaves … next thing we hear from Arvest is that our home appraised about $50,000 below market rate??

We got a hold of the appraisers report and the comp homes weren’t even remotely close in size or build date or interior updates (some were from 1951 and our home was built in 1995). Zillow and Redfin had use listed at a low of 680K to high of 721K.

A recent sales (May 2018) just down the street on a home slightly smaller than ours went for $697K. Appraiser comp homes just didn’t match up at all.

  12. My advice is FIND A DIFFERENT MORTGAGE COMPANY!

Worst customer service I have ever had to deal with! I made my payment on time using the coupon book with the attached address label issued by Arvest. In the mailing process, the label came off and the payment was sent back to me via my return address, one day before late fees would apply.

I called customer service to be sure I would not be penalized and was told I had the choice of paying an additional $10 to make my payment by phone or $5 online. The cost is not the issue…it’s the lack of customer service when Arvest would not waive $5 for a situation that was nobody’s fault! PS This was not the first time I’ve had problems with this company. My advice is FIND A DIFFERENT MORTGAGE COMPANY!

  13. Bad Service Provide

As a insurance agency they do not pay the fees for your insurance on a timely manner.

  14. If possible, stay away from doing business with this company!

My mortgage was purchased by Arvest about 4 years ago. Since then, I dread every time that I have to contact “customer service” with even a simple question or issue (usually something THEY did wrong!). Their attitude is horrendous and demeaning, and they generally try to cover up,

fast-talk, and confuse the issue with data that isn’t even relevant. I have wasted HOURS on the phone with various people, and end up just ending the call in total frustration. They are definitely not consumer-friendly. If possible, stay away from doing business with this company!

  15. Its takes crazy long.

Charges $5 bucks to pay with a bank account. No other loan provider I have used does that. Also their website is probably functions the worst out of every site I have seen. Also their payments process for multiple days. Its takes crazy long.
