Terry Moving & Storage
Terry Moving is full of scammers and fraudstersI hired Terry Moving & Storage to shift my belongings. It was a local shift within the Orange City and they provided me a great price for the entire package. I was happy with the price and scheduled a date for my shifting. But, an employee of the company who the company is liable for, ripped me off by stealing my valuable items and a credit card.
The items included valuable jewellery consisting of a diamond watch, Montblanc pen, diamond bracelet and many other items. I was assured of the safety of the items and did not care to carry those things with me while I shifted. This was not it. I came to know about the credit card theft after I received my monthly statement.
Hence, I called Mark Terry who is the owner of the company. I told him about the theft and he started blaming me for the loss. He said that I would have misplaced it during the travel and would find it later among the boxes itself. I also asked him to provide the details of the insurance to start the claim. At this, he became abusive and started cursing me. He did not give me the details of the insurance company.
So, I contacted PUC to get the details of his insurance company which I got. But, the insurer turned me out as well. He asked me to get a police report for grand theft. He was trying to buzz me off. This does not end here. The criminal, which he should be called, gave me a wrong evaluation of the move. He doubled the price after the items were moved. His employees who came to move my items, held it with them until the asked price was paid.
When I asked for an explanation, Mark gave me an excuse saying that he needed to add another guy, and the charges changed accordingly. Nearly double?
I filed the complaint with the police who marked it as a ‘Grand Theft’. After investigating, it was confirmed that the credit card was stolen by one of the movers who came for the shifting process. He had used the credit card at gas stations, Walmart, Target and other places with his girlfriend. The route was the same where Terry Movers operates.
The police informed that the suspect was a criminal with various previous records on his name. Still, Terry Movers employed him and when he stolen my items, the company denied taking the responsibility.
That suspect uses various names to fool people and was difficult to catch. The department suggested that he could have been behind bars for some other scam or could be anywhere else. The search is still on.
In the meantime, I tried asking for the compensation. But, Mark is not interested in doing justice with his customers. It was a huge mistake to appoint Terry Movers for the job. The company should be avoided at any cost.
