Frustrating

The level of ineptitude of Roundpoint Mortgage Company is staggering.

I have been calling in every two weeks as they continue to hit me with late fees even though I’m paying nearly double the amount owed, and doing it on a bi-weekly basis.

They apparently don’t know how to process the extra payments.

On top of that, they didn’t pay my insurance company out of escrow.

Yes, that’s right. I went a full year without insurance.

When confronted with this they simply acknowledged it and offered me a refund of the escrow.

Just imagine what could’ve happened had their been an catastrophic event.

I could’ve lost my home because of their ineptitude.

To be clear, I did not choose them. They bought my loan.

I have no choice except to continue using them which is the most frustrating part of it all.

  1. If I could give ZERO stars, I would!

    If I could give ZERO stars, I would! This mortgage company has the most messed up way for tracking payments, sends out delayed billing statements, assess random fees at times that the reps on the phone cannot explain. Also, you can’t make more than one payment in a “billing cycle” or you have to sign up for ACH drafts.

    I have done bimonthly payments with other mortgage lenders (to decrease the principal) without all the “authorizing” paperwork needed. It seems a ploy to curtail the payee from doing that. Also, the electronic payments from your bank take “several days to post” so you could in fact get assessed a late fee.

    This is my FOURTH home and I have NEVER had this issue with other Lenders. I can’t wait to end my relationship with Roundpoint. It’s too bad they can’t seem to get the concept of customer service.

    Oh, and the reps document differently than what they tell the customer on the phone…..the opposite. IF you can avoid this Lender……than pick ANY other Lender than Roundpoint.

  3. We plan to refinance and get out of this company.

    Awful company. I have spent over 12 hours trying to resolve a payment issue. We sent proof to them that our bank sent the mortgage payment. They will not put in writing that they never cashed the payment.

    I have asked for a supervisor on 4 different occasions they tell me no one is available and I will receive a call back with in 48 hours.

    I have never received a call back. Most recently they responded to email stating they need proof of payment. The email that had the proof of payment attached.

    The customer service representatives are extremely rude and constantly tell me things I already have spent hours discussing with other customer representatives.

    I would give zero stars if that were an option. If your loan has been sold to this company I would recommend refinancing to get away from them as soon as possible. At best, they are the most incompetent company I have every dealt with. In my case, they were much much worse.

    They messed up my escrow, gave me incorrect information about disaster assistance (Hurricane) and dinged my credit because it took them more than 10 months (still waiting) to give me the terms to get the account back in good standing.

    Tried to bump me from a 20 to 40 year term on the mortgage and increase the interest rate. Way to prey on people during a stressful time in their lives. Don’t try to reason or argue with them because they don’t care. Just refinance with a company who takes care of their customers. I will, just as soon as I can.

    The absolute worst mortgage company I’ve ever dealt with! They bought my loan before I made a single payment to the company that originated my loan. First thing they did was cancel my homeowner’s insurance that was set up to be paid out of my escrow (and they never told me).

    I found out when my insurance company sent me a refund check. Thankfully, I called the insurance company to ask why they sent me a check, or I would’ve been screwed. My newest ongoing problem is fighting with Roundpoint over the prompt payment of a property tax bill, which is still not completely resolved.

    They told me they would pay the bill. When they didn’t pay it, I got hit with a late fee. They told me they would cover the late fee because it was their mistake. Now they’re refusing to pay the late fee. Seems to me that there will always be some kind of issue with this company, and the high number of bad reviews seem to back me up.

    This company is an abomination. This company treats their customers like garbage and their employees are all poorly trained. My home was damaged by Hurricane Michael and I received money to fix my house from my insurance. When I emailed the documents they said that they only received part of the documents.

    When I told them that I had sent them the documents they said that they must still be uploading which was a lie because it was all part of the same PDF. Now I am having to pay for my house repairs out of pocket since the clowns who run this company will not release these checks.

    My holiday plans are now canceled since I now have to pick between eating and preventing future damage to my house. The biggest insult is that I didn’t even want this garbage dump company, they bought my mortgage and now I am stuck with them.

    Did not have a good experience with this company. Neither the customer service rep nor a supervisor was willing to help me with resolving one late payment issue.

    We have never made any other late payments but that didn’t seem to matter to them even when I explained the circumstance and that it lowered our credit score and is now causing an issue with getting another mortgage.

    This is the worst possible mortgage servicer in USA. Ripoff refuse to follow Florida Statutes. Illegally raising your escrow account. They’ve been busted for, receiving insurance kikbaks not,

    passing on to borrower. I’m talking millions of dollars why are they allowed to do business in our state I informed State Attorney General,

    Pam Bondi her office contacted me, said they asked for a letter be sent to me as well as her office explaining, their conduct. Almost two weeks ago no letter yet. They don’t care about Pam Bondi, this i was told in so many ways. Best way of all they sent email reiterating that they still needed the documents illegally falsified in order for them to release funds to repair my home. This is a mortgage servicing company, they make their money by screwing the little guy.

    The check was going to be sent to me on 9-28. Still fighting with them today one month later. Was on the phone for over 30 minutes today for them to tell me I needed another document. Horrible service.

    They Suck. We had Envoy for years until they bought our mortgage insurance. We were never informed that they purchased it until we got your mortgage put back into our account.

    And then They cannot manage a escrow account to save there life. I just hope that Envoy buys my mortgage back from these idiots.

    Very difficult to work with off-shore and on-shore. Working with them in the past year has inspired me to search other sources for a re-fi. Their “Machine” doesn’t read “principal only” boxes when checked, so why is it on their coupon?

    Trying to resolve over the phone has been impossible. Unfortunately they weren’t my choice—my loan origination company sold my loan to them after two months. Lesson learned. Buyer beware!!!

    Huge issues trying to resolve my mortgage payments. They increased my payments over $1,050 per month which was outrageous. I submitted my new tax appraisal from my county to show them that my taxes did not garner a huge increase in payments. It has taken them over 6 weeks and 4 phone calls.

    They only person that gave me confidence was Terry but I cant get her back. They still have not adjusted my payment. They stated they sent out emails and are waiting on a response. PICK UP THE PHONE and call!!

    My $3,110 payment is due August 1st and now they are telling me to just not pay it… WHAT??? Not pay my mortgage… no answers! No clue what to do and cant talk to anyone who seems to no anything.

    WARNING…… Do not do business with this company… my mortgage was sold to Roundpoint I never chose them…. to start this story on I had a burst pipe in my bedroom/bathroom. Claimed my home insurance they settled released a check made payable to the mortgage company the public adjuster we hired and me…

    long story short 16 weeks later numerous phone calls to Round points claims loss department with my lawyer we still can’t get them to release any of the insurance funds… we can’t get a straight answer of what they are requiring to release my money to repair my home….

    every call different requirements or I’m being told the check is getting released on a certain date call on that date…oh no that person misinformed you sorry we will make sure they get the training they need! So look at the pictures of my bathroom that we have been forced to live in WHILE paying my mortgage and ask yourself is this a company you want to deal with…

    the air quality test results for our bedroom came back inhabitable levels from the water damage which caused mold so our bed is in our living room…

  19. Really Poor business practices and on top of it, really bad customer service. STAY AWAY!!!

    Don’t ever do business with Roundpoint Mortgage. Had loan with Roundpoint Mortgage for @ 18 months, never late, payments paid online 1st of each month. Had chance to refinance and paid off the Roundpoint Mortgage in Jan.

    They allegedly sent my Escrow Balance of @ $4350. out in February along separately with the final docs. The final docs came but check never arrived. Called in March and let them know and they stopped payment on the check and were to send out a new check on 3/24.

    Returned from vacation expecting check and nothing! Called back again, more mistakes– whole company is incompetent– hadn’t sent the check–“sorry,” they agreed to Fed Ex check on 4/30, even sent Fed Ex tracking number. Except they didn’t Fed Ex, they claim actually snail mailed via UPS. Can only imagine how many other customers they with-hold moneys from and delay paying.

    You would think its illegal… 1000’s of customers, millions of dollars they delay and earn interest on. Really Poor business practices and on top of it, really bad customer service. STAY AWAY!!!

    This should take no more than a couple of days to complete. Since loans are sold to them, the incentive does not seem to be there to show great customer service. (They have only recently begun originating loans and are mostly loan buyers from other lending institutions.) Based on the other reviews I am seeing, I am not alone.

    The representative taking my call today is extremely rude and has had me on a hold for 25+ minutes??????????? As the time increases, i will post reviews towards all locations across the country and on yelp in the same manner.

    My account has been locked over a year and every time promises are made to unlock it, they are NEVER followed up on. I was “forced” to use this lender as the previous service sold my mortgage to Round point, previous lender was no better,

    but at least i was able to log into my portal and was not locked out every time i tried to access it. In my line of work i have over 50 revolving passwords so its not like i forget them, its the portal that chooses not to recognize them.

  22. I'm refinancing and am warning you to look elsewhere.

    with three different ones over the years. This is by far, the most INCOMPETENT mortgage company. I closed on my townhouse 18 months ago, and my payment has increased $347!!! a month since the amount I signed on the dotted line at closing, and here is why.

    They said they overestimated my taxes at closing and issued a reimbursement and decreased my mortgage payment to show the adjustment. Six months later, I received a letter stating they were right in the first place and I now owned them $1,900 for escrow deficit, and my mortgage payment was increasing $311.

    Then six months later, I received a letter that they had not considered my homeowners insurance for the past year, and I owed a years worth of homeowners, plus a years worth in escrow. I just received a letter last week, that starting May 1st, my mortgage is going up an additional $27 for “escrow deficit”.

    I feel their job is to accurately figure out my monthly payment. It’s not rocket science, and I can’t be their only loan! How many people can afford their mortgage payment going up $347 a month? I’m refinancing and am warning you to look elsewhere.

  24. In my mind they should be investigated for fraud.

    Roundpoint bought the loan on a rental property I purchased. I had a loss covered by insurance. The initial check from the insurance company was over $10K so Roundpoint had to be listed as a joint signer on the check.

    Roundpoint signed the check, put it in the bank and never contacted me about requirements to get the money back. I filled out all the paperwork shown on their loss schedules, but they didn’t send a check and didn’t contact me about deficiencies.

    I called the customer service line. After a hour’s hold, they answered and sent me to the Loss Department (which doesn’t have a direct line, so you can never call them back directly). The Loss Department said I needed to have the documents notarized.

    I got them notarized and emailed them. RPM said I would get an email confirmation that they got the documents. I didn’t.

    I called again. After another 45 minute wait the Loss Dept said I needed a statement from the contractor that he would do it for the insurance amount. I thought that was already covered in the documents he signed and said he wouldn’t put a lien on the house for the work done.

    Meantime, my insurance check has been cashed and is in RPM’s account for 2 months. RPM never calls or emails to say what needs to be done. The CSR’s say that it gets so busy their phones are tied up and they can’t call out.

    They don’t say why they don’t email. I will never agree to let a closing mortgagor sell another one of my mortgages to RPM. In my mind they should be investigated for fraud.

    I received an email from my homeowners insurance that my policy faces cancellation because they have not received payment. Policy end date was . I called insurance company on 3/13 and they said they sent the policy to Roundpoint on. The woman called Roundpoint and waited on hold for 30 minutes, no answer. She re-faxed the policy.

    I used Roundpoint’s Secure message system to inquire (3/13) and received an auto confirmation. On 3/15, I tried to access the Secure message system and it was gone! Used their chat and talked to Angeline. She assured me that there is no problem that they had until 3/29 to pay it! On 3/16 RPM issued payment (on 3/21 still not yet received).

    On3/12 RPM sends us a letter saying they were purchase insurance for us because our insurance has expired! Another chat on 3/20 to Magdalene. She said payment went out on 3/16 and that the insurance company goes by the date it’s postmarked! And that it will be OK next year when it has to be paid again!

    No way I am going to trust these Bozos again! (BTW, they were late with the first property tax payment after they received my mortgage). Contacted insurance company on 3/21 no payment, so I paid, their customer service rep said the refund will go to me.

    I refinanced my home many times and been with different lenders and mortgage servicing company, but Roundpoint Mortgage Company is the worse of the worse! If there’s a zero star, I would give it to this company. I supposed to receive my escrow refund a month ago, but until now I still don’t have it!

    I called every week to check the status and every time I called the customer service gives me round around and playing games w/ me, pretending it has been escalated to their manager and it’s in the process of sending me my money. Well, it’s been a month now and still not signs and no idea where about is my escrow refund, it’s my money and I don’t know why Roundpoint Mortgage Company wants to keep it!

    I paid my mortgage ahead of time and when it’s time to return “my money”, this company won’t give me my money back!

    Roundpoint Mortgage Servicing Corporation is AWFUL! I’ve had 15+ mortgages in my life and never had a problem with servicing until my current mortgage servicing was transferred to Roundpoint (“RP”). Nothing but troubles since. Several times over the past 4 years I’ve received notices from my insurance company that they were cancelling my policy due to non-payment.

    I then have to find out why RP hasn’t paid the premium – there is always enough $$$ in escrow – RP always has some excuse. Tonight I spend over 30 minutes online and then on the phone with RP – turns out they paid my premium after it was due!!! Totally unacceptable!

    Unfortunately, consumers can not choose who service their mortgage – only choice is to refinance the mortgage (at great expense) and ‘hope’ that you get a good servicing company.

    I sent 2 messages as well, and the last one they responded to saying they were working to resolve the issue with my flood insurance, and then I received an letter from Roundpoint about my flood insurance not being up to date… which is what I’ve been desperately been trying to resolve!

    On hold for 37 minutes now. And then I tried their chat feature, and that wasn’t working either. I never understood why people made reviews about mortgage companies until now.

My flood insurance company tried contacting them to get the escrow payment for the updated flood insurance, and either couldn’t get a hold of them or they were told they don’t hold my mortgage anymore… which they do.
