If I could put zero stars I would. Just moved to the area from out of state. Looking for a pediatrician in the Mountain Brook area. Called to set up an appointment and the office staff asked for old records. Spent an entire morning coordinating the transfer of records from my old pediatrician to their office. Confirmed the records were faxed from my old pediatrician. Called a couple days later and OTM Peds said they never received it and refused to set up an appointment. They asked me to have my old pediatrician mail the records. A total waste of time. A week later and I still don’t have an appointment (I’m not talking about seeing a doctor, just scheduling an appt. for crying out like loud) and decided to look elsewhere.
As a doctor myself I can’t imagine refusing an office appointment to a new patient that wants to be seen because they don’t have records with them. Especially if my office was open to new patients. Fortunately my child is healthy and I have some time to find a different pediatrician. If it was a more stressful scenario this would have been a heartbreaking experience.
