Green Bank

Loan Service

My fiancee’ and I have been building our credit so we can secure a prime mortgage. We figured taking out small loans and bank credit card consolidation would be a good start.

We went to Green Bank on a Monday afternoon and started the loan process.

The bank facility itself is nice, I would not call it “green” but it is modern.

The tellers and banking agents are typical like most other banks, however the vibe is a tad bit icy.

We had to wait 5 mins to be seen even though we called ahead of time, and we were the only customers in the bank.

I mean the parking lot was a ghost town! We finally get started on the paperwork which went smoothly.

Typically when you get a loan, you must wait half an hour or so after you complete the paperwork.

Well it was near closing time after we finished our paperwork to pick up the funds.

So we figured we would just pick up the funds in the morning since the bank rep did not give us any information after we finished it.

The next day we did not receive a call from the bank at all.

On Wednesday we were sure that we would be picking up the loan funds since more than enough time had passed since the paperwork was completed.

Well we were told by the loan officer/vice president that it could take up to two weeks for our loan to be approved..What?!?! It’s 2014! Nothing takes two weeks to be approved! This was a $500 loan secured with a $1000 CD!

The loan officer told me that this is the way it was for all banks and I just didnt know the loan process.

I then told him that I’ve secured many other loans from different banks before and never waited more than 45 mins for the the funds!

He then said “well let me try to expedite the application and I will call you each day with a status report.

That was the jist of our conversation, however this man was very condescending.

He called us on Thursday morning but that was the last time I heard from him until the following Tuesday afternoon by email in which he told me that I had to fax him a copy of my fiancee’s DL and her work phone number, At this point I was livid, but I did it anyway because we had already invest a week of our time.

He emailed me on Wednesday telling that the fax was too dark and to scan her DL and email it to him.

I immediately called him by phone which he did not answer, this is where I drew the line, so I got in my car and went to Green Bank, canceled the loan application and broke my CD, got my money back!

  1. I guess I will refinance just to get rid of them.

I hate to even give this bank any star. My home loan is now being serviced by them and I have had nothing but problems. After 15 years of perfect and great service from the previous lender – I guess I will refinance just to get rid of them.

  2. Scammer

Businesses need satisfied customers to be successful, and by all I have encountered, Green Bank is a sinking ship, no matter how much money they throw into acquisition growth.

Just for some perspective, this review is coming from a former investment banker who realizes and understands the regulations affecting banking today. My issues have nothing to do with regs or protocol; this is basic customer service and quality of product. Either do something well or not at all.

  3. Green bank has been an absolute terrible experience.

Green bank has been an absolute terrible experience. While I have encountered some quality people (see below) “my banker” – Krissa – who was assigned to me, after my original banker left to “greener” pastures, has been an absolute nightmare.

Her customer service is a joke! Her underhanded, manipulation is untenable. It is a shame she has made Green Bank such a toxic name with my family/friends, because I encountered some people within Green Bank (Steve – San Felipe branch, Shermetta – Austin branch, Candice – loan servicing, and Sandra – loan servicing), who were a pleasure to work with and truly provided quality customer service.
