I joined 1040 Tax Biz as an affiliate who wished to own his tax business with the support of this company. I paid money as well for joining their affiliate program. The list is long, and I will try to be as brief as possible.
When I paid them to become their affiliate, I had to make them many information that was vital and was missing from their contract. It was all messed up and I had to put extra time in understanding what was missing in the contract.
In addition, they do not have any association with the national retailers and they still advertise that they can help others make their own tax business a reality. On top of that, they charge $139.90 fees which they have not mentioned in their contract.
I got to know about these charges when I used Advent bank to process my client’s refund and wanted to process their tax preparation fees. Again, a $45 fee showed up as the bank charges when there is no involvement of the bank. Because these fees were charged from my client, I had to raise the bar of the total cost incurred by them.
This makes me in-competent, isn’t it? So, when I realized the same, I cut down on my profit, a part of which goes to 1040 tax biz and earned nothing when added the infrastructure and other costs.
They also promise to provide training. But, they lack in that too. If you are not an experienced in filling for taxes, you would not be able to make much out of these sessions. There is a lot that you will have to do it by yourself and it may happen that the training would confuse you.
They have no order in anything that they do. Moreover, there is no communication within the teams. I would get different email replies from different people in the team. I am sure, they are looking forward to making their brand thrive by inviting affiliates to join the team, but they need to figure out what is lacking in their management first.
No two team members would give you proper and common answer for the same question. You will have to know what they are trying to do. Or, you will be in huge debts. They will process fees that were never mentioned. Either it would be from your account or from your customer’s, ultimately you would be responsible for filling the gaps.
I got into so many troubles trying to make things right, that I believe it would have been much easier without them. I understand that new businesses go through a lot of ups and downs, but it can become a challenge to make the ends meet if the support is after your profits.
I would not recommend this company to anyone. Not affiliates and not clients as well. You would end up frustrated and lost. Because 1040 is highly unorganized and careless.
