Residential Mortgage
They were so unhelpful, so unreliableI used to be an appraiser’s assistant and town and he recommended his colleague who owns/runs/somehow is involved with Residential Mortgage. I have never purchased a home before.
My husband and I were completely new to this experience. We had no idea what a disaster this ordeal would be.
We never met anyone in person at Residential Mortgage.
Maybe it’s not the same when you’re buying a home and meet with the realtor, but I even asked about coming in to discuss things in person and get questions answered because again.
I have never bought a home or even took out a loan, and I was met with hesitation before I was informed, “Yeah! We don’t.. normally do that but that’d be fine.” Oookay? Kinda weird.
I’m sorry, I didn’t want to just be on the receiving end of rapidfire chatter and presume that five-minute phone calls are sufficient enough when I’m pouring money into a property.
To save time for a long rant, it was catastrophic. Residential dropped the ball, big time. Our realtor was pissed. Magic fees were showing up out of nowhere.
“Oh, I forgot there’s this new thing for new homeowners by the feds, it’ll only bump up your percentage a bit.”
The company didn’t investigate the HOA of the property we were purchasing and the day before everything was supposed to close.
I got a call from the mortgage company (two hours after my father died and I was still at his bedside in the hospital) saying that if we couldn’t come up with another 5% by tomorrow, we’d lose our chance to buy the property.
This happened almost a year ago and I’m still furious and bitter over it. I would never recommend this company.
They were so unhelpful, so unreliable, and so incredibly aggravating, I wish I never called them.
It made my first home-owning experience a nightmare.
For what it’s worth, my friend who recommended them apologized profusely and we’re still friends. But he still owes me wine for forever.
