How best to describe the experience working with Patrick Todd Gardner at Everbank.
On the face of it, Patrick is responsive via email, text and voice.
However my experience with Patrick seems to be almost faustian in how he approaches reeling you into doing business.
From the initial request to submit documentation that was limited to 25mb via his secure portal, things went sideways.
His portal would not accept file sizes below that limit. It was trial and error before I found the secret formula to submit my documentation.
Patrick stated that his company would not allow him to ‘access’ Box or Google Drive for documentation due to security concerns.
While not that big of a deal, I think we can trust Google or Box to secure your files as well as they do your email.
The actual experience of securing financing was very disheartening.
When there were questions/issues with the type of loan I was seeking, and I asked for clarification as to why my requests for the type of loan was changed without consulting me, Patrick became defensive and accused me of misleading about my situation.
Which is hard to believe given that he has all of my taxes and financial information from the previous 3 years. Not sure what I was misleading him about but ok.
So now after a hard inquiry to my credit, several hours compiling documentation that seemed like overkill and time spent figuring out a ‘Cisco’ secure email portal that has a random limit on file size submissions, I am in the market for a different loan broker.
I have worked with brokers in the past, this one is by far the worst.
Getting a loan should not be this difficult.
