Vickie Strohl, Enrolled Agent
CommunicationI located Vickie Strohl, Enrolled Agent EA (Enrolled Agent/Tax specialist) on the internet. My husband’s pension management office recommended we consult an “EA”, so that we could be completely informed as to the details of his upcoming retirement/pension.
I should insert here, my husband is critically ill, and we want(ed) to insure that I would have the financial benefits and protection in place, upon his death.
We are completely overwhelmed with the packet we’ve received from his former company (he is on disability now) and needed someone to help make sense of it all.
This woman (Vickie, herself) answered the phone – and when I began to tell her what I needed (hoping to make an appointment)
She was so abrupt, rude and dismissive, nearly screaming at me “I’M NOT A FINANCIAL PLANNER YOU NEED TO CALL A FINANCIAL PLANNER…”
Which would be all well and good if we had hundreds of thousands of dollars to invest ~ we’re definitely not in “financial planner” territory. We just. needed. a. tax. expert.
When I told her I would find another EA, she basically said “yeah, that’s a good idea…” and hung up on me.
I don’t have any experience with her as far as her competency.
She may be very good with handling your tax matters (as we all know, it does take someone with gonads to handle the IRS – and if that were the case, Vickie would be your girl) but as far as communication goes, huge negative here.
And you definitely want someone who will communicate with you when you’re talking about your hard earned money …
