I Am Extremely Disappointed

To whomever it may concern, I am extremely disappointed in Unitus Community Credit Union’s service.

I need to deposit a check into my account and it was made out to my husband however he endorsed the back of it therefore it shouldn’t be a problem to deposit into my account.

If you look in my account your company has accepted checks in the past so I don’t know where the disconnect happened.

When I put it into the ATM I had to make a specific trip since you changed your policy.

The closest one is in the heart of downtown Portland so I did it before the traffic started.

When I called to verify it was in my account and to see if there was any way the funds could stop pending early, Amber said she couldn’t lift the hold because it was “suspicious activity” since it was a large amount that was deposited into an ATM.

She also said I already have a large amount of money in my account (which was a rent check that needed to clear) so she wasn’t able to help me. This doesn’t make any sense.

This really bothered me. My husband is on the east coast right now interviewing for residency programs and will be an M.D. this June.

I was doing him a favor by depositing it into the account for him because he needs to buy more tickets and hotels for future interviews.

Amber asked if it was made out to him and I said yes and he endorsed it as well.

Why didn’t she tell me it was going to be sent back to me by mail.

This morning when I woke up I checked my account and the money was taken out.

I called LIVID because if I didn’t check, I would have been screwed.

When I talked to a supervisor she said it was taken out because it was made out to my husband…even though it was endorsed.

I needed to go into the bank. I asked if it was still there and she said no it was mailed yesterday.

My concern is I know you need to abide by your policies but you do have in your control your customer service and you should have called to let me know what was happening and I could have gone down there and deposited it into his account.

When I told this to the supervisor she said, “We don’t have the man power to call every customer.”

Well I am so sorry to inconvenience you with our business.

We will be closing our accounts as soon as I find another bank to bank at.

Therefore that might help with your ‘manpower’ issues.

  1. I have had nothing but the best experiences with this bank and would definitely recommend!

    I have been a member at Unitus for several years now and have had nothing but excellent service. Today I went to the Clackamas branch for for an auto loan and was helped by Elliot. His customer service was exceptional.

    He took his time and went above and beyond to answer all of my questions and to provide me with additional resources that I didn’t even know were available. I have had nothing but the best experiences with this bank and would definitely recommend!

    The teller told us that we’d have to wait about 10-15 minutes to open an account, but we waited less than a minute. It was great!! Elliot helped us open a checking account & he was super friendly!

    Nothing about our visit was awkward or bad, it was fast, productive & I felt comfortable enough to ask questions about my savings account as well.

    Never again would i use unitus over the last couple months i have gotton bully letters from Jessica Dorn to the point i had to go to one of the supervisors to have her stop i would never be a member with them again and tell people go to rivermart were yer respected as a paying customer

  5. Bad Service.

    When i went in to the branch i dealt with a teller (Amanda Mckinney) who was very nasty to me raised her voice when at all time i was calm never spoke as loudly as she did and was saying we got to charge u a 20 fee and the whole intire time of her making a fool out of me there was a guy who was the branch manager.

    who just stared at me spoke little english was even more rude to me its to the point that if i have fraud im afraid to go to confront it with them they have no customer service they even told me customer arent right they have charged me over 300 in fees that should not be there.

  6. This Place is Scammer

    I have been a member with Unitus over a year when i started i had a good experience but after time ive got a couple fraud transactions on my statements and when i went into the branch in vancouver and others. they always think im lieing and when I recently got a call from the fraud auto call for the 5 time this year and told me to call cust care they told me to go into a branch and get a new card.
