Pinnacle Tax Services
Very Frustrating ExperiencePinnacle Tax Services was highly frustrating. From the beginning, I felt ignored, looked down upon, and that my business was not necessary to them.
Let’s start at the beginning. Pinnacle attracted me due to its glowing reviews and being so close to where I live.
I have driven to San Bernardino for the past four years to visit my tax preparer.
Pinnacle was quick to respond to my email request to book an appointment.
Danny was kind enough to accommodate me when I explained that I needed a consultation (free) before we could get our taxes done.
Danny was available to meet us at 6:30 pm the next day for discussions about my husband’s LLC dissolution and tax preparation.
Taxes are simple, with only minor deductions.
It was like Danny’s attitude changed dramatically after we explained what was required.
As if our simple requests were a waste of his time.
He said that he doesn’t usually deal with simple, small things. I prefer to focus on more challenging work. Okay… Can we talk to someone else?
Pinnacle met us just a week and a half before tax day, so we decided to hire them regardless of their attitude.
Danny suggested that we leave our tax file with Danny, and he would email our tax return within a week.
I was concerned about his leaving my file, as I didn’t have any copies of my tax documents (1099, W2’s receipts, etc.).
Danny assured us that we would have everything back within a week, so don’t worry.
Because I wanted my original copies (and not scans) back, I asked Danny if we could bring them in when our tax return was complete. He said yes.
Fast forward one week: I am approaching the tax deadline, so I email Danny to set up our follow-up appointment.
There was no answer. I spent the next two days trying desperately to schedule a follow-up appointment with Danny.
The quick and attentive communication of a week ago was now absent.
After finally getting hold of Danny, I attempt to schedule another late-afternoon appointment. But Danny pointed out that this was a distraction.
Although he “makes an exception,” he says he will see me at 6; however, if I want to be there in the morning next year, I must “make sure that I schedule a time.”
It frustrates me because I was clear about my schedule from the beginning. We can’t do business together if we don’t meet at night.
Pinnacle seems accommodating when you make a booking but not willing to help you if you’re a client with a low net worth.
Danny arrived late at my office, so I had to leave work early.
He didn’t show up for the appointment after I guilt-tripped him about having to work late.
Instead, he had an associate meet me, and she gave me my tax file.
All of the documents I came to pick up were missing. (My receipts, 1099’s, W2’s, etc.)
Someone found all the paperwork missing, and I was happy to be done with Pinnacle.
Turbo Tax is something I’d instead use in the future. I won’t be back.
