I remember it like it was yesterday. I had been going about my day when I got a call from a company called Jinigram. They introduced themselves as third-party consultants working directly for McAfee antivirus software. They insisted I needed to upgrade to the latest version of McAfee and that I needed additional protection for my IP address. Trusting them, I agreed and they charged me $250 for these services. an Looking back, I should have been more skeptical, but in the moment, I was just concerned about my computer’s security.
The initial call that started this chain of unfortunate events came from the number (800) 669-9307, which I later discovered was associated with Jinigram. During the peak of their harassment, I received calls from another number, (855) 423-9979, which I discovered was linked to an entity known as SV Security Deals.
After the call, I had a gnawing feeling in my stomach that something wasn’t right, so I reached out to McAfee directly. They confirmed what my fears: the services I had paid for was entirely unnecessary. I had been duped.
But the nightmare didn’t end there. Roughly three months later, I started receiving harassing phone calls from Jinigram. They claimed I was under attack again and tried to pressure me into shelling out an additional $200 for the same services they had already sold me. At this point, I knew I had been scammed and decided to confront them.
I called Jinigram directly, demanding a chargeback or a refund. But to no avail. They refused to even discuss the issue. I felt helpless, tricked by their elaborate scheme and left to deal with the consequences.
I later came across information that pointed towards the involvement of certain individuals in this scam. I discovered Tarun Gaur was linked to the site associated with the scam and that his background conveniently aligned with the skills necessary for such a deceitful operation. I also found out about Amar Singh, another individual associated with the scam through his ownership of pcmagic and presumably avsecuritydeals. It seemed they might be working together.
I eventually reported my complaint to McAfee and shared my story on scam reporting platforms in the hopes of preventing others from falling into the same trap.
Reflecting on my experience, I can’t help but feel a mix of anger and disappointment. Jinigram had presented themselves as legitimate consultants, but they were just con artists, out to exploit unsuspecting individuals. My experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I hope my story can serve as a cautionary tale for others.

My spouse sought assistance with printer issues from a tech support service. We recently purchased a new computer and were taken aback when Jinigram claimed the problem was with our computer and insisted on remote access. Eventually, they installed Microsoft, despite us already having purchased it and them acknowledging our email confirmation. Shortly after the phone call, we received a bill of $X, which prompted us to contact our credit card company for an immediate investigation. Regrettably, our request for reimbursement was denied. It is worth mentioning that the tech support company had contacted us earlier to lower the amount, but we firmly believed we shouldn’t have been charged anything. In summary, it was an utterly deceptive company.
Really a dirtyscammer
You won’t believe the audacity of this company. They had the gall to pretend they’re somehow connected with McAfee. Out of the blue, they rang me up, spinning this terrifying yarn about my personal information being hawked on the dark web. Naturally, I freaked out and began digging around.
In the heat of the moment, and on their say-so, I agreed to let them install this fancy software they claimed would shield me from any further dark web mischief. To make matters worse, they held me hostage on the phone for a draining two hours during the entire installation ordeal.
Their software is about as useful as a chocolate teapot. But the final kick in the teeth was yet to come—they had the audacity to bill me $379.00 for this farcical “service”.
I’ve reported them to the Better Business Bureau and I’m fighting tooth and nail to get my money back. I hope no one else gets roped into this scam.
