Group Twenty Six
Customer ServiceThey courted me and my listing by telling me they represented buyers and that they were a different type of real estate company.
They came to my home – twice – first to see the house and give me their soft pitch and then, the second time to make a harder pitch for my listing. (They never mentioned bringing buyers to my home…) They presented me with their marketing program – no actual case studies or examples of what they did for clients – which looked and sounded a lot like every other real estate agent’s approach. (That’s not good or bad…just not special or unique.) But they insisted they knew better than most and were far more effective.
At the end of the second meeting, they asked me if I was ready to list my home with them.
I said no. I requested the names of two clients – one from the buyer side and one from the seller side.
In the next few days they told me they had no problem providing me with references – well, guess what? I never got ’em!
If they can’t provide real references, how could they expect to get my listing? They shouldn’t and they won’t.
