Duffy Realty of Atlanta

The Worst Experiences

Duffy Realty of Atlanta was able to get my house on the MLS.

It was the inception of the lousy journey from there. The disclosure form was not completed correctly.

We checked, yes and non, on the same line.

After several messages asking for assistance, I attacked them on their Survey.

Duffy Realty Returned my call, and someone pretended to be there for me.

I submitted the disclosure form again and was surprised to find it had not been changed.

This information was provided by a Real Estate Agent, who received the disclosure form two weeks after I made changes.

The final straw was when the appraisal came in at $65K less than the asking price.

Which Duffy guided me to select.

Calling the Contracts Department was a huge mistake. I was told they would challenge the appraisal.

Gabe Long didn’t contact anyone, and the Contract expired. It was then terminated.

After they have charged me $500.00 not to sell my house, I now need to pay $60.00 to cancel the listing.

It was the most challenging experience of trying to sell your home.

  1. Good service.

Good service. Customer service returns always a call back quickly and answer all my questions

  2. He produced the buyer and then Duffy helped me close it.

If you prefer an in-person relationship with a broker, this Duffy option may not be for you. Enjoy the lower commission if you are comfortable with it being at arm’s length. They are meticulous and do a good job. Chamberlain is your best choice. He is efficient and competent.

Their only job is to market your property. My house was vacant for many months before I decided to go out for lunch with a broker. He lived in the area and knew the area well. Duffy assisted me in closing the deal after he found the buyer.

  3. Duffy is a good agency that provides different selling options.

Duffy is a good agency that provides different selling options. I chose the one with the lowest commission, which was not the best fit. This is an excellent option if you don’t need hand-holding.

They work primarily remotely and will respond to you and help you if you take the initiative to text or email them. Calling leads to voicemail most of the time.

They will list your home and send pre-written emails of what to do next. These emails are informative and helpful; however, they are remote and general. Their sales process follows a set pattern, but if you contact them, then they will recommend options. Otherwise, you are left on your work from canned communications.

  4. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!!

I listed my home with Duffy in Alpharetta, GA and my main complaint is when ever I wanted to get in contact with them it takes HOURS!!!!!! When I call the office all I ever get is the damn recording, never a live person.

When I got an OFFER and needed to get help the “contract’ person has the same number as the office number and all one can do is leave a message and wait HOURS for her to return my call. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!!

  5. The McCarty team at Duffy were very professional and helpful with every need I had.

DUFFY realty was great at helping me sell my old home and buying my new home. They saved me a lot of money on the selling side. And we’re fantastic on the buying side helping me find my new house. The McCarty team at Duffy were very professional and helpful with every need I had.

  6. Beware of Duffy!

We listed our home with Duffy (flat fee) and were very unimpressed. Not only did they charge a $500 flat fee and an additional $100 to “rent” a lock box (which can be bought for $85), they never did anything proactive to help sell our house.

We finally transferred our listing to another realty agency who said they have received several transfers from unhappy Duffy customers.

  7. Agents will do everything to NOT SHOW Duffy listed homes.

Agents will do anything not to show Duffy-listed houses. Agents chastised me for using Duffy. They only showed my home to their clients. Duffy Realty is a joke, and it is well-known in the real estate industry.

Duffy will immediately refer you to their tips & forms website for any questions you may have. Sometimes you may have a question that requires more explanation than a FAQ page. They don’t offer any assistance. Duffy’s videos only dispel all negative complaints from clients or realtors.

After my Duffy contract expired, I hired a full-service realtor, and my house was sold in 50 days. The lesson is never to pay upfront for a discount agent.

They don’t have any incentive to sell your home – they already have the money. Duffy Realty is a company that I can guarantee will make you regret.

  8. No wonder this house still hasn't sold!

I am an unrepresented buyer in north Atlanta. A few weeks ago, I was interested in a Duffy Realty home. So I submitted an online request to see it…no reply.

A week later, I called the Alpharetta office and was greeted by a woman who promised to pass my information on to the agent responsible.

I rode past the house today, approximately three weeks later. I dialed the number on the For Sale sign to speak with a Duffy representative. But, no response.

She told me she wouldn’t show me the house without being represented. Then, she tried to convince me to list my home first with Duffy. I WANT TO GO TO THE HOUSE!

It’s no wonder that this house hasn’t sold. Why would anyone list their home to a broker interested in 100% of the community and not the seller?

  9. I guess they don't need my business.

Called them last Wednesday to talk about listing my investment property — never got a call back. Left a message Saturday. No call as of Tuesday, so I called them back. Brie promised an agent would call me back within the hour. The call never came. I guess they don’t need my business.

  10. I honestly think this business is insane.

I honestly think this business is insane. I looked into it to consider using it, and backed away quickly. It’s essentially paying someone else, only to end up doing the job yourself. All they do is put a sign in your yard. They don’t show up at closing, and you have to take your own pictures.

  11. the worst experience EVER

Do not use this company, they told me to sale my house for 290 so i put it up for 270 for ease of sale because i didnt think i could get 290 for it then when i looked other houses like mine were 260 and they had my sq footage wrong by 1000 ft and when i asked to change it they changed it every where but zillow.

on top of all that i live in dallas ga and you can not find my house on a search for dallas you have to look at acworth to find it and when you search houses with 3 or more bedrooms mine being 4 bedroom im listing number 520 out of 520 i had to go to the very last page to find my listing RUN,

RUN FAST and on top of that try getting a hold of anyone EVER you cant ive bought and sold 6 houses in my life and by far the worst experience EVER

  12. Very Bad

I took up their offer of a $150 consultation in exchange for information about how to price and market a two lot infill property. The woman who showed up had two examples of houses in the neighborhood that recently sold… not new infill houses… not vacant land… just two typical houses.

I ran her off with an invitation to come back after she does her research. Never heard back from her or her boss. Reckon my situation was too much work for them or it was too complex for them. They wanted that $150 real bad but wouldn’t work for it. I didn’t pay them. Think they might be socialists.

  14. Hope this helps in making your decision.

Very nice and cordial when they meet you for the first time. They only sell promises but as soon as you sign the contract, you are pretty much on your own. Total waste of of my money ($1000). Good luck speaking to a live person. I could have done everything on my own had I done the research. Hope this helps in making your decision.

  15. Truly the worst experience in trying to sell a home.

Duffy Realty did get my house listed on MLS. From there, it went downhill. We made an error on the disclosure form (we checked yes and no on the same line).

After leaving several messages asking for help, I blasted them on their Survey. Of course someone returned my call and pretended to help. I re-submitted the disclosure form and to my surprise it was never changed. I learned that from a Real Estate Agent who received the disclosure form 2 weeks after my changes.

The final straw came when an appraisal came in $65K under the asking price (Which Duffy guided us on selecting) Calling the Contracts Department was a big mistake when I was told that they would help me challenge the appraisal. Gabe Long did not contact anyone and the Contract expired and was terminated.

Now after paying them $500.00 for not selling my home, I have to pay them another $60.00 to cancel the listing. Truly the worst experience in trying to sell a home.
