Douglas Sidle

Sidle should lose his license, hospital privileges and stop practicing medicine. He is absolutely incompetent, doesn’t understand human anatomy or function of the organs.

I had very subtle conservative cosmetic goals for my primary rhinoplasty. Yet Sidle butchered me with medically destructive functional procedures. He nonconsensually substituted my 1.5 hour cosmetic plan with unnecessary and forced 4.0+ hour total functional nasal reconstruction.

He has demolished all of my natural anatomy: nasal bones and dorsal lines shaved off, wood-hard thick rib pieces out of my chest inserted into my septum like two chopsticks, tip severed, lateral cartilage damaged/removed, radix erased, parts of septum amputated, columella shortened and severely traumatized, retreating all the way to septum, midvault amputated, mucosa severely and irreversibly damaged, turbinates injured. Sidle damaged the blood supply along the entire length of my nose, leading to total atrophy.

That incompetent individual used a coblation device to burn the insides of my nose with plasma, causing permanent damage to submucosal glands, stroma and cilia, leading to severe dryness, excessive open space inside nasal cavities and, ultimately, morbid condition called empty nose syndrome (ENS), respiratory distress, sleep apnea and other severe health issues caused exclusively by this “doctor”. Left me with severe, disabling injuries.

This is how I was treated in a 4.0 hour all functional septorhinoplasty procedure, medically unnecessary, functionally and aesthetically damaging, completely premeditated by Sidle at Northwestern. Sidle reasonably knew he was going to hurt me and proceeded. He issued a wrong diagnosis, not shared with me, to force those medically unnecessary procedures, to get to my insurance money and train his students.

It is of note that half of the assault came from a ghost surgeon, as Sidle allowed an unsupervised AAFPRS fellow to operate on me. This is a rampant violation of AMA Principles of Medical Ethics that state, “if a resident or other physician performs the procedure under nonparticipatory supervision, the patient should be fully informed of this fact”, “a surgeon (Sidle) who allows a substitute to operate on his or her patient without the patient’s knowledge and consent is deceitful”.

Of course, Sidle has billed my insurance tens of thousands dollars for those medically unnecessary harmful procedures. Sidle himself has boosted his own payday by $9K+, billing my insurance company the “professional charges” for those medically unnecessary functionally damaging procedures. Interestingly, before and right after the surgery, Sidle told me that he “didn’t need to do much”, and that he “won’t bill insurance”. Sidle and its hospital billed my insurance $70k!

And cosmetic results? – alar rims retracted 1cm, nose shortened 1cm, soft tissues underneath the skin got atrophied, lateral cartilage damaged/amputated, nasal valves collapsed. Instead of augmenting the discussed spot, Sidle simply ripped that part off my nose. Normal nose thus became a pinocchio-looking and feeling dysfunctional structure. I do not look or feel like myself anymore. ENS, severe dysautonomia, daily sickness and bouts of vomiting. What a nightmare.

Sidle does a lot of intentional harm by premeditatively pushing medically unnecessary harmful procedures on his patients. See other Sidle’s patients reviews over the last decade. In early years, Sidle’s actions as an intern at Northwestern during the neck surgery, have led to the death of a patient, with $3,575,769 paid to the patient’s estate and lawyers in jury trial. See case # 2003-L-011241 filed in Cook County on 9/19/2003. Some people don’t change, and Sidle is a good example of that.

All I feel now is a severe trauma to my respiratory function, my face and head. All I see now are debilitating amputations forced by this dishonest surgeon(s) at assumedly reputable institution in Chicago. It was a battery, not a surgery. Sidle has ripped me off of my good health, nasal breathing function, destroyed my aesthetics, maimed me, cashed out tens of thousands of dollars from my insurance and then abandoned my aftercare.

Sidle’s corruption will 100% guarantee injury and harm to your health and aesthetics. This “physician” may call himself a “nasal architect” but essentially, Sidle is just a charlatan that would do anything to cash out on your health. Sidle’s narcissistic personality disorder, also known as god complex, makes him think that other people are just the objects to do with as Sidle pleases, to complete his personal objectives. His main methods are deceit and abuse.

In summary, Sidle’s true qualification is converting a healthy breathing nasal function into nonfunctional pinocchio structure with severe respiratory distress, with the main goal to bill your insurance. Sidle doesn’t know what he is doing. Stay away from this imposter and charlatan. Your health is at stake.
