CBH Homes

These People Are The Lowest Of Low

I have been dealing with CBH Homes for years, and not in a good way.

These people are the lowest of low. They make crap homes that are rushed and poor quality.

Their office staff is rude and dismissive when you call with concerns.

Their construction teams are disrespectful, careless, loud, and a disaster.

I’ve never been so frustrated in my entire life!!

There is construction garbage all over my neighborhood, next to their new builds.

One of my neighbors saw a truck driving through our neighborhood with garbage flying out the back all over our street.

l’ve called their offices and they didn’t even know which subdivision I was talking about because they’ve so far overstretched their company.

I have been into the tire shop twice in the last month from metal pieces and nails in my tires that they throw around and track through our subdivision, as have several of my neighbors.

If my tire gets 1 more hole, I have to get a new tire. We’ve repeatedly asked them not to use our subdivision as a construction entrance due to their carelessness, but they refuse.

Their contractors drive like maniacs through our subdivision with lots of children who have almost been hit multiple times.

We live next to an elementary school and their workers park on the sidewalk, and leave garbage everywhere, making the kids walk in the street during the heaviest traffic times. I am so fed up.

When they build houses their studs are unevenly spaced, wiring is screwed up, our shower wasn’t properly plumbed and leaked through the closet and floor, none of our windows are straight, they build up the dirt before they build so everything sinks and all the concrete cracks.

Plus every house on my street has bad siding, and CBH won’t do a single thing about it.

My list is never ending because this company is such a train wreck.

And if you are thinking of buying a home in the city of Meridian with any space around you, JUST DON’T, because this city council is determined to fill in every single “empty” space and apparently Corey Barton is their best friend.

The space behind us was 5 acres and they are putting in 23 houses.

They will come in and this will be your story too.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

  1. I'm disappointed that they don't have the common courtesy to connect with customers.

After the build – the first year: I had a couple small things that needed fixed. One was the front landscaping had a fairly large build up of dirt next to the sidewalk. The soil next to the house was sinking (this happened to another house in the neighborhood, as well) because it wasn’t compacted properly. Water would not run off to the street, but would pool between my house and the neighbor’s house.

It took almost 3 months for CBH to fix it. At one point, the contractor that showed up to fix it was confrontational, telling me I didn’t know what I was talking about, etc. It took several more phone calls after that for them to fix it right. Although, by fixing it “right” they chopped up my sod and put it back in chunks. It looked horrible and actually killed a strip of grass next to my driveway.

I called that in as a warranty claim, but they have not returned my phone calls. I make sure to be polite and respectful, but firm. It’s a small fix, however, so I’ll probably just fix it myself. I’m disappointed that they don’t have the common courtesy to connect with customers.

  2. Very uncomfortable situation.

In contrast, a friend went through a different builder a year before and they could literally pick anything for their home. Flooring, cabinets, fixtures, you name it. The sky was the limit. The way their builder did it was to give a standard budget for the items. If they wanted something different and the cost difference was small, no problem..they didn’t even up-charge my friend. Only big expensive items were charged more.

During the build: All in all it ended up OK. BUT, I had to have several conversations with the CBH foreman. I’ll admit that I want a good value, so I do my homework and research when something doesn’t look right. I brought in friends who are very experienced in home construction to provide advice when things seem right. There were at least 5 times when things weren’t done right (3 quality issues), and most of them were easily addressed. Those items fixed wiith no push back: roof sheathing didn’t go to the top (6 inch gap that Dish Network would put their foot through), leaking gas line, window in living room was set too low.

However, one issue with the wall texture took almost 5 weeks to resolve, and CBH was somewhat confrontational in pushing me to accept it the way it was. I wouldn’t blame a person for backing down to that kind of difficult discussion, but I was persistent until they fixed it. Very uncomfortable situation.

  3. I don't get it.

It’s been just over a year since I’ve moved into my newly constructed CBH home. I wanted to wait until after my warranty was up so I could provide a review that may help future customers (and hopefully CBH, if they’re listening).

Pre-Build experience: CBH sales staff seemed friendly and nice. I was disappointed that the “options” the customer gets to pick from was so limited. Everything from tile, granite, flooring, light fixtures, cabinets, faucets, carpet, and even paint color (!) was a very small selection compared to what is available.

It just felt like ordering food at McDonald’s…”this is what you get, and we can’t do anything else”. Why can’t you let me pick the color (and sheen?) for my interior color? I’ve painted a few rooms in my day, and I’ve never been charged extra for one color over another. I don’t get it.

  4. You'll have less things to worry about.

And in the winter they would start bonfires in the front yard. Yes, it was cold, but the fires were steps away from stacks of wood and… our house.

You can tell the workers have no respect for what they are building just by how they keep the job sites.

I’d recommend looking into another builder before picking CBH homes. You’ll have less things to worry about.

  5. Bad Service Provide

The second we signed, CBH was gone, out of the picture. No calls to see how the house was. When we noticed an issue with the automatic lights not turning on, we had to wait two weeks for someone to get back to us. Apparently the person we needed to speak to was out and no one else was willing to help.

Surrounding construction/messes: We built in a neighborhood with empty lots to both sides of us. When we moved in, we had no idea how messy and unthoughtful the builders would be on either side of us. Mud was piled on the side of our house (we had to threaten CBH with reporting them to the city of Meridian), garbage was in our front yard, and at one point a worker parked their truck on the walkway/sidewalk — keep in mind we had already signed and it was our house.

  6. If you are looking for a beautiful new home by a great company then I'd go with CBH.

My husband and I had been looking for a new home that was already built. When we decided to build instead, we were a bit nervous because you hear so many horror stories when it comes to building. Not the case for us! CBH was so professional and great to work with.

They lined everything up and helped us through every step of the process. I can’t recommend them enough! If you are looking for a beautiful new home by a great company then I’d go with CBH.

  7. No big surprise.

My niece has had her house for 2 years now with a back down that has been slowing leaking. Now the underlayment and vinyl is completely moldy and Barton is doing nothing. No big surprise. I used to sheetrock rock Corey Barton homes in the early 90’s and actually removed my business from their homes because of the crappy construction. I only do good work 🙂 I will keep you posted.

  8. Never Again

You latest advertisement on TV is very offensive. What were you guys thinking? Seriously?

  9. We just bought a CBH home in Kuna and had a great experience with the whole team in the office!

We just bought a CBH home in Kuna and had a great experience with the whole team in the office! Megan Luther helped us from the beginning and was absolutely amazing! She kept us informed at every step of the process. We also got a ton of help from Karissa too!

Both Megan and Karissa worked hard to get us in this awesome new home even when we hit a few road blocks along the way! If you are looking for a new CBH home I would recommend working with these ladies! You can tell they truly care about you and your family and will work hard to get you your dream home!

  10. Bad Service Provide

He said they poured the concrete in the winter when it was freezing cold, that’s why it happened, but how can you win with a company who don’t want to fix there mistakes, anyways Good Luck to everybody who wants to buy CBH homes !

I hope pretty soon i’m gonna be able to get rid of that hassle hut and buy better quality home even i need to pay more. Get what you paid for it.

  11. Very cheap quality homes !

Very cheap quality homes ! After we bought brand new home in south Boise (Devonshire subdivision) on 9945 Mossywood dr, we get very disappointed. Back splash came off in first week, and then kitchen sink peeled off , now concrete is peeling off, they did fix the tile and sink after lots of hassles, but concrete,

they don’t want to do anything with it (they just lie by saying that it’s the weather fault) – poor weather, you can drive by to look at my driveway if you want, I called a hispanic concrete guy who was working in the neighborhood to ask what the problem is.

  12. UNBELIEVABLE

Very disappointed to learn that after designing our dream home, and completing the loan process, CBH subsequently raised the price of our home almost 10%. We were given no advanced warning of such an increase, despite being inundated with solicitation emails daily.

When we questioned the unexplained and unexpected increase to the representative we were working with, she suggested we look for a cheaper home. UNBELIEVABLE.

  13. Will never buy from CBH again and would not recommend them to anyone.

Been in home for more than 3 months and home is still not painted, gutters or fences. Yet all the other new spec homes that are not even sold have been completed.

The minute you close escrow they don’t care or have any need to help. Sales office is no help once you sign the contract. Will never buy from CBH again and would not recommend them to anyone.

  14. Very Bad

Sales office staff changes often so the minute you get comfortable with someone they are gone. Studio Design center will tell you every thing has a color variation but they really mean more than a variation (taupe means black to them).

The superintendent was awful – promised stuff and never followed thru. Would be in a mid conversation with him and he would get in car and leave.

  15. RUDE AGENT! I doubt I'll even humor CBH homes in March when we buy.

I’ve never spoke to such close minded rude agents and workers before. Just because my preapproval isn’t where it’ll be in 4 months when we rerun our approval doesn’t mean you should tell people they’re in the wrong area and laugh at them and refuse to show them floor plans so when they do get to that house price they know what they want and can add or subtract on upgrades.

Renee was extremely rude over he phone and completely unwilling to do anything for us today. She should take some customer service courses from Hubble homes reps and agents. At least they are willing to show their homes and talk to buyers about possibilities instead of telling them “you can’t even build a home for that” and laugh. RUDE AGENT! I doubt I’ll even humor CBH homes in March when we buy.
