Rental-Apt w/ 1 Yr Lease at $700 per Mo, $500 Dep, Listed Normally @ $2200 per

Airbnb Email- [email protected] -Scam Email for Airbnb per Olivier Bisset [email protected] Message Host- [email protected] a $500 Security Deposit THROUGH an Airbnb Bitcoin Account and Then Will Set Up A Meet-Up and Show Studio Apartment at 6400 Christis Ave in Emeryville CA for $700 per Month and a Year Lease. Looked Up a Studio for that Apartment Complex and found out it went for $2200 per Month..RED FLAG?!?!?!

I first saw it on Marketplace on Facebook. It lasted for a few days on that site and dissappeared. Then told us he was sorry about not getting back sooner because out of town.Wanted me live there right away and soon sent an email about a confirmed reservation without paying security deposit first. See below Airbnb Emails and Host Emails Think this is a scam…

`Said he was able to choose payment method cause he was basically burned by a false credit card. So decided to not make a Deposit because investigated and determined to most likely be a scam. Also reported to Airbnb- [email protected]

  1. I got a similar story from the same name, Olivier Bisset. But this one is in Hawaii. BEWARE!!! No rentals go for this price! So I didn’t even bother to reply to him.

    Hello,
I’ve received your inquiry about my apartment for rent. First of all, Sorry for the late reply! My name is Olivier Bisset and I own the property, not subletting or something like that.
This apartment comes fully furnished, ready for move-in as we speak. A clean and quiet apartment with cable TV, high-speed WiFi internet, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Two garaged parking spots and if you prefer to use your own furniture there is a storage unit where I can deposit my furniture before you move in. Well behaved pets are allowed. In my opinion this is the best area to live in, a simply great and safe neighborhood.
The monthly rent for the entire apartment will be $500 – utilities included (electricity, heat, cable, water, sewer). I’m looking for long-term rent (minimum 2 months). My job is inspecting offshore oil rigs so I will never bother you during your rental period.
My previous tenants practically destroyed the apartment and now I had the entire property completely refurbished, everything is brand new (see attached photos). I am not after a high profit, but after good tenants who will treat my property as their own home and I hope that you can send me some personal information about yourself.
Being offshore and with so limited options I must use Airbnb for the rental process. Here is a brief description of how it works:
The process is pretty simple, as owner I need to submit information about my property to Airbnb, my details and some documents. Then they will process the tenant’s details as well.

Please reply if you want to know more about the rental process and I will send you the step by step procedure.

Find attached more photos and let me know if you like the apartment.

    Best Regards,
IADC Certified Engineer – Olivier Bisset

  2. OLIVER BISSET IS A SCAM

Offered to rent me a furnished apartment for $600/month in a place where apartments are no less than $1.3k/month. Huge red flags because he said the same things (out of town often, asked for personal info, etc.)

  3. This guy is a scam!!! Olivier Bissett

I got the same reply back as below as his explanation to where he was! What an asshole. If anyone ever finds him, let’s all arrange to meet and beat the @#$% out of him. However, I did have a little fun with him before I went radio silent. I guess we all should be happy that www is helpful in this scenario!

    to me

Hello, thank you for your inquiry,
First of all, sorry for the late reply (I had a terrible week at the job).
The apartment I own on 400 S Camden Dr ,Beverly Hills, CA 90212 is available and ready to move in as we speak at a monthly rent of 900.00 for the entire property. A few things about myself, I’m 56 years old and I am inspecting offshore oil rigs. Oh, and you can call me Olivier. Most of the time I am offshore, I return to Beverly Hills a few times/year. If interested, please give me some details about you (age, job, lifestyle or whatever you think makes you a good tenant). What else…? the neighborhood is very safe, behaved pets are allowed. The move in amount will be first month + one deposit.
I would need a few rental details as well, how long do you plan to rent the apartment, starting when?

I’m currently on an oil rig but I could plan my trip to Beverly Hills so I can show you the apartment. I’m sure you will love it, no one lived there since I’ve taken the photos.

    Hello,

Thanks for your interest,My name is Mr Tan Dinh Truong, I just moved down to Lawrenceville, Georgia due to my job transfer as a Civil Engineer, I will be here for 2 to 3 years. My initial plan was to sell the house but I find it difficult to let go this adorable home, in case if you find the Property on another website, that is the old advert. I have decided to rent this to a responsible tenant who is willing to take very good care of it in our absence and also be a responsible person (With good recommendation) that can take care of it as we are not after the money.

Below are some questions I need you to answer so we can discuss further. You can only drive by the property for now to check the outside and the neighborhood, it is available for a short and long lease. Get back to me for further discussion on how to get the keys and paperwork of the property to you if I find you suitable and decide to rent the property to you..

Address: 1810 Selby Ave APT 106, Los Angeles, CA 90025
    Details:
    Rent: $975(Monthly)
    Security Deposit Fee: $525
    Date Available: Asap

” Hello, thank you for your inquiry,
First of all, sorry for the late reply (I had a terrible week at the job).

Unfortunately I don’t think I can return on dry land until the end of March due to my job so I can’t meet you face to face until then. But I have a solution.
    Here it is:
I am going to list the apartment on HomeAway or Airbnb, (you choose which one you prefer or the one you’re more familiar, both are multi-billion rental companies like google or amazon) you reserve the place and you can live there at no charge until I come back from the oil rig. This way you’ll have like a trial period until the actual rent starts so you can familiarize with the neighborhood, the apartment, the amenities. I think is only fair to have this period before you jump into a large period commitment.
They will only require a $1000.00 security deposit to cover any potential damage cost or if the apartment will not be vandalized or something. This security deposit will be fully refunded once the trial period ends.
Once you confirm the reservation I will mail you the key with FedEx at your current address. Then I’ll sort my trip and we can have the rental agreement signed and all. If by any reason after the trial period will end you decide not to go ahead with the rent, just let me know so I don’t have to make this long trip.
To be honest, the trial period helps me a lot too. I get to see how you maintain the apartment and I have the certainty that I don’t make the trip just to show you the apartment.

If you’re aboard, just let me know if you prefer Airbnb or HomeAway, send me your full name, rental period and a copy of your ID or Passport so I can activate the listing and send you the rental offer.

You should be ashamed of trying to take advantage of people. You need to stop. I’m reporting this to the Boca Police Department.

  6. Wow!!!!!!

I would have never known about this guy had I not googled his name and only to find out his is a complete FRAUD!!! But only this time the property is in Philadelphia, PA and he is out of town working on a “Oil Rig” so he couldn’t show me the property. Wanted 1,000 for a deposit through Bitcoin because of a fake credit card with whatever tenant he “had”, and was going to send me the key once he received the money. I’m so glad I didn’t fall for it, I’m beyond happy that I came across this page!!! Here’s the email that he sent me because it’s crazy how they are all similar…..

Hello, thank you for your inquiry,
The unit I own on 1301 N 15th St, Philadelphia is available and ready to move in as we speak at a monthly rent of 750.00 for the entire property. A few things about myself, I’m 59 years old and I am inspecting offshore oil rigs. Oh, and you can call me Olivier. Most of the time I am offshore, I return to Philadelphia a few times/year.
If interested, please give me some details about you (age, lifestyle or whatever you think makes you a good tenant). What else…? the neighborhood is very safe, behaved pets are permitted. The move in amount will be first month + one deposit.
I would need a few rental details as well, how long do you plan to rent, starting when?

I’m currently on an oil rig but I could plan a swing back to Philadelphia so arrange a showing. I’m sure you will love it, no one lived there since I’ve taken the photos

  7. Almost fell for it

Almost fell for it if I hadn’t seen all the reviews, wow. Once again, he posted a listing in Downtown LA for a deal that’s wayyyy too good to be true

  8. I got the same story with the scam. He offered a nice studio for only 400$! Guess what? He then said he’d rather bitcoins sonce his last tangent used a stole credit card!

  9. SCAM

Olivier Bisset IS A SCAM! I found the place on Apartments.com. He emailed me back, saying he would get the deposit through Bitcoin since he was burned by the last tangent and their stolen credit card! I was about to send him the money, got lucky to call the number on the Bitcoin ATM. Olivie claimed he lives off-shore and couldn’t meet up in person.

  10. I just got similar email from this guy. Funny thing, he is using same name everywhere except changing domain name. He offered me a deal in DC!!! SCAM!! $700 for 1BR 1Bath, fully furbished apartment in downtown DC!!!

Yes, I also had one from him. Very annoying, didn’t think to look up his name until after I responded. The apartment he is claiming is one that goes for $3k/month and he was offering for 1k, he writes (copy & pastes):

  15. Too obvious!

Wayyy too good to be true for San Diego! Also, he seemed a bit too friendly to me. Usually, I have to pull teeth to get responses from leasers. He tried a bit too hard with convincing me he was an oil rig inspector, especially with the notice at the end.

  17. RENTAL SCAM IN NAPERVILLE IL

Listed “his” apartment at 520 Burning Tree Lane in Naperville (forrent.com) Rent $500/month. This is half the price of going rents in the area. Thought maybe it was a typo until he responds that he is a “70 year old man who works as an offshore oil rig inspector”, etc, etc. Was willing to “give” us the apartment for two months free until he got back into town “after” sending $1000 deposit via AIRBNB and providing our ID, SS, or passport info. We said, we’d love to pay for one year upfront if he can provide us with HIS NAME, SS, BANK ACCOUNT INFO …. lol. No response back from him. What a loser. Why can’t this guy get caught already?
