InventHelp

Do not be fooled by sales strategies of InvestHelp

The scam starts with a commercial by InventHelp. You see that commercial offering you the platform for making your invention known to the entire world. InventHelp reputation and reviews will claim that it would help you in marketing your idea and get you huge returns.

They start by sending a free package that contains the contract agreement and the NDA. You are required to fill this up and send back to the company and they say that they would be doing a free review. Then, you will get a call from a consultant after few days of sending the agreement. You would be told that the idea was a masterpiece and analyzing the potential of the idea, they would be happy to collaborate with you.

They will send you a contract for that would cost you from $300 to $1500 for a research report. They even suggest that the money would be refunded incase the research report is negative which is never the case. Their plans are very deceptive. Once, the report is successful, they ask you to make the highest payment for registering for the highest profit for the invention. It starts from $2000 and can go up to $12000. By paying $12000, you get 90% share and it decreases as the amount goes down.

Most of the investors are enticed to pay the highest amount thinking that they would be earning millions later. The point is, they would not underline the challenges and risks associated with the new invention. The government rule says that the companies offering such services would provide all information in written about the risks. But, they would not say it upfront.

They will also tell to do the patent process which they offer at a lower price from their end. However, that is not an actual patent. It covers for a year and gives the time to the inventor to register for the patent which costs up to $15000 within that year. However, they simply register with that 1-year plan for $130.

The lies continue and the salesperson is well trained to make it sound lucrative. In no way, you will ever know that these guys are scamming you until you realize that you have lost all your money. They are trained to seem sincere which they are not. It can take up to 4 months for you to realize that you were scammed. The company that you paid them money is not expertise in selling your invention. But, it would be too late by then.

InvestHelp was known by the name Invention Marketing Inc, Invention Submission Corp., and IntroMark. It kept changing the name after being accused of scams and frauds. God knows, from where they get the heart to fool so many people and ask for an outrageous fee for marketing their inventions. If a company is genuine, it would never ask for this kind of fee for marketing your invention. In addition, it would talk to you about the risks associated with these kinds of opportunities.

  1. Scam Alert !

Watch out for this hoax… I signed up with invent help in late 2017 & then rollercoaster of false hopes & crappy low budget “referral” services began. They know every trick in the book to hook you & then take your money. My biggest mistake I made was not researching the large amount of lawsuits against invent help that have been filed over the years, not to mention the scam alert pages & news reports found online pointing to invent helps tricks in their billion dollar industry. I called client services to request canceling my account & the first person hung up on me, I called back & then second person claimed to be a supervisor & said, “well your contract is being met, so low performance doesn’t constitute canceling”… I responded, “I never said it was performing low, you just did, I said I want to cancel” – She says, “you can’t as per your contract”… “so then who should my lawyer contact after I’m done leaving bad reviews, & submitting a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission”?? She responded – “Well that department isn’t available right now”… Really? they’re not available? okay, so I asked, “You can’t leave me a name & contact information for anyone?”- She says “no, sorry not at this time” ….

__ Client services is obviously just a call center & can’t help you with anything. Invent help hooks you good… drags you along with a lot of cut-copy & paste submission paperwork they send to you once a month or so stringing you along until your contract is up… Their patent attorneys they use are offered at a discount so you only use their people to give you more false hope. They do little research to tell you if your invention is actually producible, let alone profitable. Over $10,000 to send a one page low content “referral” paper to “manufactures…? Who I might add, I looked up & half of the listed companies “Wanting to see ideas” didn’t exist on the quarterly “submission” I received.

The only one making a profit off ideas & inventions is Invent Help… They got the best idea of them all. Hooking would-be inventors! Do your research online & don’t believe the captivating offers & hopefulness they show you. Its all manufactured to hook you & get you to sign… anyone can read online their success rate is less than 1%… I wish I researched this all first. Expensive Mistake !

If you have a real idea, save the $10,000+ & make it yourself & pitch it yourself to real manufactures who can be upfront with you, not salespeople who get paid a big commission when you sign on the dotted line.

I have never once received any “feedback” from the 4 separate submissions they sent out.

The only updates I ever got in over a year was my payment going though.

  10. Inventhelpless - Save Your Money & Go Elsewhere

Probably like a lot of people with inventions (good or bad) I got hooked in after I saw a TV advert with George Foreman recommending Inventhelp, when you see high profile people like George Foreman lending the name and actually appearing in the advert promoting their services you get the impression it would be a reputable company.

My complaint / negative experience with Inventhelp has nothing to to with my invention or the $15,000 of my life savings that they got from me, I’m a big boy and I knew what I was into… up to a point.

My complaint is how I was treated once I handed over my $15,000, everything up to that point was very professional and dare I say slick, the front of house (sales rep) couldn’t be anymore courtesy and you’d even get the impression should the invention do well he could be a very go friend. My problems started once I signed the contract, handed over the money and then had to deal with the faceless back of house people, you have to complete an information package with drawings and description of your invention and return it to Inventhelp my mail (snail mail not email) 4-6 weeks later I received paperwork with with incorrect descriptions and drawing of my invention, this went on for a total of 6 months as I would not sign off on the 4 incorrect literature that they would send me. After a couple of months I received what by the end of dealing with Inventhelp what had become a standard letter that was churned out every quarter stating my invention had been sent out to all these companies that Inventhelp had agreements with to review my invention, this was the first warning signs that Inventhelp were not as professional as I was lead to believe, I contacted Inventhelp to ask how was my invention sent out to all these companies when I and not sign off the paperwork, I got fobbed off with a glitch in the computer software. Having been in phone communication with Inventhelp in the beginning I requested that all communication be in writing as I was being giving assurances that failed to materialize.

Inventhelp start the ticking contract from the date of when the contract was signed, they don’t take into account their heal dragging with artwork sign off which in my case was over 6 months, I received a standard letter at the end of my contract stating that they would not be promoting my invention any further as the contract had expired, when tried to contact Inventhelp I was told that the contract had run its term and they would not extend it to the date of when I signed off on the artwork that was caused by Inventhelp back house staff.

As I stated in the beginning my issue with Inventhelp is not with my invention or the money I paid them, it’s how I was treated by them plus the generic letters that were sent to me, I don’t believe that Inventhelp ever actively tried to promote my invention through their network of companies but just sent out standard letters to me every few months.

If you have an invention I have no suggestion where you should start but I would highly recommend that you do your research and stay clear of Inventhelp.

    Thanks for reading.
