This company is the reason people don’t trust mechanics.
A few days ago I discovered a leaking furnace. A technician from Brian B Quick came over and correctly identified the problem as a cracked condensation pan. He then said that the entire furnace will have to be replaced, which would cost a minimum of $7k. After lots of probing and explaining that we are not interested in replacing the entire system, he admitted that another option was to replace only the pan and coil, which would cost around $3k. When asked why the coil has to be replaced, he said that the pan cannot be replaced without also replacing the coil because the two “go together.”
Well, that was a lie. I contacted another company, and a technician came over and replaced the cracked pan for a fraction of Brian B Quick’s quote. Apparently, it was very easy to remove the coil, replace the pan, and put the coil back in. The whole process took a few hours, and now my furnace is workin great.
Brian B Quick was very quick and responsive, and they correctly identified the issue. But considering their insistence on replacing the entire furnace and a made-up need to replace the coil, I cannot trust this company. Before you hire them to work on your HVA
C issue, you should at least get a second opinion.
