I strongly advise against hiring this company for building your modular home’s foundation. They demonstrated a complete lack of competence and professionalism in their work.
Firstly, they improperly installed the vapor barrier, a crucial moisture control component. This negligence could lead to potential issues with moisture damage and mold.
Furthermore, they made a critical error by pouring the footings onto the vapor barrier instead of properly digging a trench in undisturbed earth. This mistake compromises the foundation’s structural integrity and can have long-term consequences.
They incorrectly installed vents in the foundation wall when it was supposed to be a conditioned crawl space. This shows a lack of understanding of the project requirements and can lead to unwanted moisture and air infiltration issues.
Moreover, their foundation was 6 1/2 inches out of square, a significant deviation from acceptable standards. This flaw can cause numerous complications during the construction process and affect the stability and alignment of the entire modular home.
To exacerbate the situation, they improperly installed a curtain/French drain that failed to serve its intended purpose and caused water to pour into the crawl space. This demonstrates a complete lack of expertise and negligence in their execution.
Most concerning is their refusal to take responsibility and make amends by reimbursing the money spent on fixing the drainage issue properly. Their unwillingness to rectify their mistakes showcases a lack of integrity and customer care.
