Washington Center For Dentistry

I was dumbfounded

I have been going to this dentist for around five years and recently left after spending thousands of dollars on dental treatment with them over this period of time. Very nice and fun dentists and very friendly staff.

However, Frank from the billing department is utterly rude. I had to reschedule an appointment for a crown approximately three times due to my busy schedule, however I always informed them on time. The final time I had to reschedule, Frank had the audacity to tell me that I need to pay in advance for my treatment before I come because I have rescheduled too many times. This was going to be approx. 2000 USD.

I was dumbfounded. He told me that the dentist, Dr Katseros asked for the advance payment. I demanded for Dr Katseros to call me back so we could talk about this. No-one had the decency to call me. I was completely insulted and demanded for my records and moved to another dentist. Simple as that.

Would rather spend my hard earned money elsewhere. WCD needs to learn that their clientele are mostly professionals with busy schedules. Cancellations and rescheduling happen all that time. That’s part and parcel of running a business. They should never have insulted a long standing client like me that has been loyal to them for so many years. Not a good look.

  1. Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. Front desk is not knowledgable and there doesnt seem to be very good communication between any of them.

  2. I don't know for simple general treatment and cosmetic work in terms of other reviews.

I paid 2,5 k for a deep cleaning and re-crown 9 month ago. But I have been in pain all the time. I visit again and Dr told me I need to do implant. In the beginning of checking procedure, Dr told that it was positive to do crown rather than implant.

Now, she told that she didn’t guarantee it so it is not her fault. She didn’t even show any sorry attitude. Very frustrating…
So, I don’t think if you have serious dental problem, like root canal or crown maybe this place will be bad experience. I don’t know for simple general treatment and cosmetic work in terms of other reviews.

  3. If you want health-focused dental care, look elsewhere.

This dental office focuses on cosmetics. Even after expressing my disinterest in cosmetic dentistry, I had to wade through their manipulative pitch before being informed of my dental health. If you want health-focused dental care, look elsewhere.

  4. I kept coming to Wash Dent and began seeing Dr. Doctors.

I used to come here when Dr. Telis was here and, although the practice was very expensive and they don’t accept insurance, it was worth it because I liked him. After he left to start his own practice in Chevy Chase, I kept coming to Wash Dent and began seeing Dr. Doctors.

He was also good, but then he tragically passed away so I began seeing Dr. Deutsch. That’s when I decided it wasn’t worth coming back here. Dr. Deutsch is fine (I honestly can’t tell the difference between him, Dr. Doctors or Dr. Telis in terms of quality) but he is such an unpleasant person.

  5. Not a good look.

  6. Worst customer service that i have ever experienced!!!

they lie to their customers and dont expect them to notice the amount on their monthly bills – and more outrageous lie about insurance coverage to make them look better and less expensive

  7. I felt rushed into making a decision.

I felt rushed into making a decision. I expressed my uncertainty about the coverage offered by my insurance. I was then told that my insurance covered 80% of the procedure – this was incorrect. I asked if they were sure and that i wasnt going through with the procedure if that wasnt the case and I was told they were certain.

  8. Definitely go elsewhere!

This place is way overpriced and they always pressure you for more and more. Like a shady auto mechanic. Definitely go elsewhere!

  9. I think you should strongly consider somewhere else too

While the staff, hygienists and dentists are friendly, I had a terrible experience you should be aware of before considering this practice. After agreeing to expensive x-rays, I was informed by my dentist that an old filling had fallen out. When I went in to have it re-filled, the dentist noticed decay on the adjoining tooth and, in the words of Sarah Palin, did he ever “Drill Baby Drill!”

  10. This is BY FAR the worst dental practice I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

This is BY FAR the worst dental practice I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I did not choose WCD – my (fantastic) dentist of over 15 years sold his practice to them.

They are over priced, arrogant, shameless profit seekers with overinflated treatment plans, and rude staff. I could write a lot more, but the bottom line is that underneath its thin veneer of civility, the place is phoney inside and out.

I was never quite sure they were telling me the truth – and I was right in wondering. After telling me I need treatment costing thousands, I decided to get a second opinion. I will now be treated for 10% of what they quoted, and have complete trust in my new dentist. WCD cares about one thing – profit. Find a fairer, friendlier, more reasonably priced practioner.

  11. I truly recommend them without hesitation.

I am actually dentist-phobic. I had finally found a dentist with whom I developed comfort, and he retired. Thankfully my visit to Dr. Doctors really put me at ease. He and his staff are great – they keep on-schedule, they are patient with me and have made me completely comfortable going to my regular check-ups. I truly recommend them without hesitation.

  12. I liked my cleaning experience (whitening and replacement crowd upcoming) overall

I liked my cleaning experience (whitening and replacement crowd upcoming) overall. Dr. Andrew Frangella is professional and friendly, and has a gentle touch. I would recommend this practice to my friends in the midtown area

  13. I will DEFINITELY be going back to Washington Center for Dentistry!!!!!

I was visiting DC for a work conference and had a dental emergency. I have a Maryland Bridge for my lateral incisor right up front, and it came out in the middle of a business meeting! I went to Washington Center for Dentistry and saw Richard Fordjour, DDS.

Dr. Fordjour was absolutely fantastic! He was friendly, helpful and did a wonderful job! He gave me a temp bond to put my bridge back in until I can get back to my dentist at home. His assistant, Soosan, was great as well. If I am ever visiting DC again and have a dental emergency, I will DEFINITELY be going back to Washington Center for Dentistry!!!!!

  14. I wish I got the same value for money everywhere.

Dr. Deutsch’s services cost a lot, but so does a BMW. His work is impeccable, and he stands by it. And he’s honest. Over the past 11 years, there have been a couple of occasions in which some very complex treatments didn’t turn out as hoped, and he re-did them. I wish I got the same value for money everywhere.
