Veterans United Home Loans of San D...

Extremely Disappointed

My husband and I are extremely disappointed. After finding our perfect home we made an offer and it was accepted.

We were told it would be a good idea to pay for our own home inspection this way if any repairs were needed we could modify the purchase price and make the repairs ourselves.

So our inspector found about $1,500 worth of repairs which were not of immediate concern but in the future we’d need to repair.

So there was an addendum to make our purchase price $1,500 less.

Now comes the required VA inspection. It was approved after the seller installed 2 handrails. Great!

Unfortunately, Marissa Rose, our VUHL representative mistakenly submitted our private inspection to the underwriter and now the underwriter will not close until our private inspection repairs are made.

Even though we obtained a VA Inspection approval. Needless to say we will be obtaining a new lender since the seller does not have money to make these repairs.

One more thing, this process has taken over 2 months.

2 months of sending documents and re-sending them because the rep “didn’t have them.” What a waste of time.

  1. I'll definitely recommend her!!

I had a great service from one of the VA United Home Loans staff (Alix Frederick) as she guide us every step of the way. You can sense her passion towards her job as it shows how knowledgeable she is with the whole in and out process which she unreluctantly shared with us and thus makes us knowledgeable as well.

How she educate us with every detail of the process and answering each and every question we had with a very detailed response made us feel comfortable and feel so secure that we’re doing the right thing especially being a first time home buyer. I’ll definitely recommend her!!

  2. Good job

    Staff did a good job

  3. Veterans United is horrible.

Veterans United is horrible. They keep coming back with new questions about items already submitted. Asking for new documentation ON THE DAY OF THE SCHEDULED CLOSING!!!!! Closing never happened. Extremely disappointed.

This question they asked was priceless: WHY DO YOU WANT TO MOVE???? LOL. I actually had to write a statement on why I wanted to move!

Stay away from VETERANS UNITED HOME LOANS, unless you like to be abused and treated unfairly. They just can’t make things happen, it’s like dealing with a bunch of rookies. I would give zero stars if that was an option.

  4. Not Good Service.

contacted them 3 times trying to get a lender and no one ever got back to me…its been 3 weeks now

  6. DO NOT USE THEM.

My wife and I applied for a loan with VUHL 6 months out from the start of the build of our home and one year out from our closing. The build was to start in January, here we are in March still waiting on things from them.

And now because we it’s going to take six months to build our house which moves us within a 120 day window we can’t get our house built. They procrastinated constantly on our paperwork.

We contacted our agent back in October to make sure we were on schedule to start the build on time. She assured us that we were. When you call them it can take a week or two for someone to get back with you. DO NOT USE THEM.
