US Mortgages

I was very unimpressed

I was very unimpressed with US Mortgages, specifically George Hagar. My husband and I worked with him for over 3 months for what should have been a very easy refi on our home.

He would ask for paperwork over and over and it seemed like he would just give us busy work.

He would set dates for ‘closing’ the loan….and none of the dates would ever come through.

In early June 2016, he emailed us and said not to pay our mortgage bc the loan would be happening by the end of the month.

I thought that seemed weird, not to pay my mortgage, but he even promised to pay any late fees we would incur.

The last day of the month he told us to pay it and we wound up with our 1st late mortgage payment in 13 years! If course, we never saw the refund from the late payment.

Towards the end of this process George Hagar started to get very rude on the phone and by email.

When I voiced my concerns about the process of this loan he turned me over to his supervisor, Tom Fuller.

Tom called me once and never called back and never answered any emails. Towards the end of July, George told me he ‘found us a loan’….yay…except it was a FHA loan with mortgage insurance.

When I told him I wanted a conventional loan he told me I would never be able to get a conventional loan and FHA it would have to be.

I started talking to someone at a different company (who knew what they were doing) and in 20 days my husband and I closed our refi with ease.

Keep in mind that US Mortgage is a broker and they will shop your numbers around till they find a loan, even if it not the kind of loan you want.

While doing this last summer they pulled my credit score 4 times in 6 weeks, each time my score dropped.

Keep an eye on your finances and credit scores if you go with this company…..they caused me nothing but distress!

  1. Great place and great employees.

I am so glad I used US Mortgages for my refinance needs. I have now used them for three separate instances, and each time was a great experience. George was super fast and a great person to work with. I tell all my coworkers and relatives to come here for business. Great place and great employees. Would gladly deal with them again!

  2. Scammer

My partner and I worked with George H. He was very helpful and tried to make our loan as simple and easy as possible. He also help us to find cheaper auto and home owners insurance in the process.

We enjoyed working with George very much and would recommend him highly. We now have everything consolidated and pay 500.00 less in bills every month. He really went to bat for us through the whole process.

  3. I appreciated their professionalism and customer service greatly!

Cassie Davis and Keith Bolin at US Mortgages were so helpful throughout the entire process on purchasing my first home. We had a tight timeline for closing and they still made our closing deadline even during the busy holiday season. I appreciated their professionalism and customer service greatly!

  4. Do NOT do business with US Mortgages.

Do NOT do business with US Mortgages. Morgan is absolutely horrible to work with. She was disrespectful and rude throughout the entire process. Please save yourself the headache and find another option for your mortgage needs.

  5. They actually saved us very little money over all and the angst of dealing with them was definitely not worth it.

We started the process of refinancing nearly 2 years ago, a process that should have taken a couple of months at most. They stop responding to calls, emails, then have you resign new documents, only to tell you that you have to redo the entire thing again. Three appraisals, three closings and money out of pocket on the 3rd closing that was due to their issues not ours.

I would not recommend them and will certainly never deal with them again for any reason. They actually saved us very little money over all and the angst of dealing with them was definitely not worth it.

  6. DON'T WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE. It's a lot of work and run around!!!!!

When we started our refinancing program, we were never told what was expected from the appraisal. Had we known, we would never have proceeded. But, alas, we did. After many steps to the process, we were first told that we would save over $400 per month from our current mortgage. We were told we would not need mortgage insurance. Throughout the process, things kept changing, and we had to resign a number of documents. Eventually, it came down to our appraisal not meeting their expectations, and the type of loan was changed.

Then, because they couldn’t close for the amount we had been led to believe, before they would close they also wanted us to either take out a personal loan for the balance needed, OR take a $6,000 advance on a credit card, OR purchase mortgage insurance. DON’T WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE. It’s a lot of work and run around!!!!!

  7. Run away fast as you can. Scammers.

One of the worse lenders ever. They scam you to get you to sign of the dotted line. They tell you one thing, then turns out to be another.

  8. This company is a JOKE!!

This company is a JOKE!! I was employed here recently and they set me up to fail from the start. I was hired to build their purchase business (as opposed to refinance) by way of penetrating new construction companies and earning their customers.

I was let go after just six weeks because USM felt like I didn’t bring in enough builder business. Six weeks!! Anyone who has a pulse knows that relationships don’t develop themselves overnight.

The most confusing part about this is that, in less than a month, I actually DID successfully penetrate a builder resulting in a dozen leads in just a few weeks. Even more confusing, USM didn’t even have a construction lender to work the deals I was bringing in! You see, USM is a broker, meaning they contract with actual lenders to whom they sell their loans.
