Note: if you ever think you might buy a house, save your tax returns. Save them somewhere you won’t lose them. Ever.
Because if you’re unorganized like me, you’ll end up here. Trying to simply get a print out of a 2011 tax return and getting turned away TWICE due to “high volume.”
You apparently need a “ticket” in order to see a staff member to have them print out a copy of your return.
Despite the IRS website stating that no appointment is necessary, you pretty much need an appointment. Or a hell of a lot of patience.
I still haven’t made it in to one of the little cubes to actually talk to someone, but hopefully the third time will be the charm.
Also, this building is a pain to get in and out of. No dedicated parking, a slow as molasses metal detector/security checkpoint, and very little signage to help you find where you’re going.
I’m giving one extra star for the people watching: it is seriously impressive.
