Universal Lending

Customer Service

I recently purchased a house through ULC and had my closing botched by Universal Lending. That storm has passed, and it’s only two weeks later.

During these two weeks, I’ve gotten a TON of mail from all the secondary marketers ULC must be selling my name to, and just now a letter from the new owner of my loan.

Not once did I get a call or letter from ULC, thanking me or welcoming me. I

‘m glad to be done with them, although not excited about the podunk company they sold my loan to.

Try calling their number and asking for Customer Service. You’ll be sent through to an individual’s voicemail without an explanation of who that person is.

  1. Not a good experience for our fist home...

Our experience was awful, however it was the Mortgage Lender we had that turned our deal to a stress-fest! DO NOT use Charles “Chip” Allen Jr. He is in the Crestline division of Universal Lending Corporation. We literally had to go to the Corporate Offices and ask them to get involved so we could get our loan closed.

Our VA loan didn’t close on time, but we were able to salvage the deal to close the next week and save our rate. Long story short, do your homework, but definitely steer clear of this guy with Universal Lending. He doesn’t communicate well, can’t explain anything clearly; it ended with him in an outburst, yelling profanities at the top of his lungs. Not a good experience for our fist home…

  2. Claudia Lopez was a NIGHTMARE.

Claudia Lopez was a nice lady at FIRST, and then completely lost all of my respect in one email. My new spouse and I were looking to buy a home, we needed some help as to find out where we were today and where we needed to be.

The only way to do that was to ask questions, and get some help. I had not only been a previous customer of ULC but even did a refi through them. I asked Claudia for a time to meet, and she called me and had this attitude and said, “If buying a home is important to you, you will figure out a way to take time off from work to come sit down and talk with us.

  3. I personally do not recommend working with this company.

I worked with Breonna-Maria Rodriguez, unfortunately her customer service skills lack in ability to be honest with her clients. Very difficult person to work with, and unwilling to go out of her way to help a person out if it does not benefit them personally. I personally do not recommend working with this company.
