This was my biggest mistake to believe unitedwaterrestoration.com guys for great service. I own a house and there was some small problem with the plumbing. I looked for the contact details of plumber and found them calling me back.
The person on the other side of the phone from United Water Restoration asked me about the details and said that he would be helping me out with the same at the most competitive price.
He also took details of my insurance and said that 90% of the changes would be bear by my insurance company.
I found him clean and asked him to do the needful. I was not bothered about the charges as I knew that it would not turn up anything more than $300-$400.
So, he sent few guys to do a check on the issue and suggested few repairs. At the end of the day, what all he did was, he sucked the water out of the house and put driers to dry the house.
The next day, I received an invoice stating that the total charge was $10,000. I did not believe what I read.
I called the guy whom I spoke with and he said that I had signed a document consenting about the work that was done in the house and that charge was the total amount that I incurred while accessing their services.
He said that I would not have to worry as the problem was taken care and I won’t have the reoccurrence. He also tried to console me by saying that my insurance company would cover the 90% of the cost.
Still, I was getting a big chuck to be paid. After, a week, they contacted me. The guy said that my insurance company had rejected the claim and I would have to make the full payment.
I was taken aback. It was difficult for me to pay them the 10% of the cost and the entire amount was a big deal. I denied the payment and told them that they should have informed me about the cost before making any deal, which they did not at the first place.
After several weeks, I received a lien on my house as they had filed a lawsuit against me. I got into a lot of trouble. I had to look for an attorney to fight for my rights. However, these all instances put huge load on my work and money.
I know I have learnt a lesson for life for not believing these guys, ever again. I would like to post this report here so that you all know about these cheaters.
United Water Restoration Group Inc only look for money in your account and do not care about the hard work that you have put together to earn that amount.
The work that had costed me not more than $300 – $400, they charged me $10,000. They did nothing extraordinary. Still, they tried to pick on me.
