I had a very confusing experience here.
I wanted to get a sample of white paint so I could see if it matched the white that was on most of my walls. I wanted to repaint one wall, but I didn’t want to buy a large quantity of paint before making sure it was the right shade of white (I did some research and found out that there are many shades). Anyway, I walk into True Value wanting to get a small sample. I was directed to the guy behind the paint counter. When I asked if I could get a sample, he literally began asking 100 questions and seemed to want to argue about giving me a sample of white paint. He obviously wanted to sell me a bucket of paint, and no matter how many times I said “I would like a sample,” he responded with some reason for why I needed to get a large quantity of it. I finally said calmly, “If you won’t sell me a sample of white paint, that’s fine, I will go somewhere else.” After that, another employee came behind the counter and dismissed the employee I had been arguing with. He put together a sample, which I bought, but at that point I just wanted to walk out and go somewhere else. If I hadn’t been in such a rush, I would have done exactly that.
