Thomas Michaelides attorney Las Vegas, TCM Law Group was sued again for legal malpractice. Thomas Michaelides has also been suspended by the State Bar of Nevada multiple times and is now under investigation again. Thomas Michaelides was previously warned about his paralegal, Matthew Katz (booking photo attached) who was arrested for the unauthorized practice of law, forgery (see attached Sheriff press release). Thomas Michaelides allowed Matthew Katz to perform legal services , which ended up resulting in a case being dismissed since the attorney did not oversee the case.
This is what the Nevada Supreme Court had to say about Thomas Michaelides just a year ago, in In re Michaelides (Nev. 2017) 405 P.3d 99,
The profession was harmed because Michaelides’ breach of his duties regarding non-lawyer assistants, which allowed his paralegal to engage in the unauthorized practice of law, was detrimental to the integrity and standing of the bar. The record supports four aggravating circumstances (prior disciplinary offenses, pattern of misconduct, multiple offenses, and substantial experience in the practice of law) and two mitigating circumstances (cooperative attitude toward proceedings and remorse.
Thomas Michaelides Las Vegas and his paralegal (unknown if she went to an actual paralegal school) Natasha_Smith_Las_Vegas acted very improperly where each were on notice Matthew Katz who did go to law school, but could not become an attorney in Nevada, was given the title of paralegal, and was allowed to practice law without a license. Specifically, Matthew Katz was arrested for Unauthorized Practice of Law, 205.390 – Obtaining Signature by False Pretense, 205.0832 – Theft by False Pretense Over $3500. See link here.
Thomas Michaelides, and his staff Natasha Smith were notified of the illegal conduct of Matthew Katz but failed to do anything. Typically an attorney would conduct an investigation if alerted his office was conducting itself in an illegal manner. However, Thomas Michaelides condones the conduct of his ‘super paralegal’ and allowed him to practice law without a license.
Do not trust this firm as Thomas Michaelides has a history of fraud by taking money and failing to perform services, having a paralegal do the work (which anyone can do by just a paralegal not at attorney rates), and is a seriously shady attorney.
