I am really upset about the experience I had with Thee moving company. They totally ripped me off. I could not explain the level of disappointment they put me into. I got a transfer and needed to shift to another city. I tried to contact my regular company for shifting my stuffs. However, I did not reach them. So, in haste, I contacted this company after my friend gave me their number. My job has always been like this. I travel a lot and many times I have to shift to other places. I have tried few companies but this one was the worst.
When I called their office, I got a voice mail. I was going to try some other company and their call returned. They told me that the receptionist was on the other line and that was the reason they missed my call. I did not give much attention to the excuse and asked if they can arrange three people to come to the job. They said that they would require visiting the house to check the kind of stuff I have and would assist me with the right package. I was fine with that.
I scheduled the meeting the next day at 10:00 AM before I would have left for the office. However, they did not show up. Neither they informed me about any delay. While I was driving to my office, they called me saying that they were out of my door. I got frustrated and asked them to come the other day. They said they would be coming on time. So, I waited the next day as well. They were still late. But, I stayed back to make sure I see them. They reached an hour late.
After accessing the house and the furniture, they told me that I would require 5 people to pay for the movement. I did not have much stuff and I knew that two could handle it. To make the job faster, I had requested for 3. But, 5 people was too much. But, they said that the company policy cannot be changed. As per the number of items, I will have to go with that plan. It was frustrating, but I said yes. That is where they felt my need and ripped me.
They came after lunch to pack the things. I had asked them to come in the morning. However, they did not surprise me. It was not the first time that they were late. I showed them the items that were expensive and needed extra care while packing. It took them an hour to pack things and load to the truck. When I asked how they did it so fast, they said that they were trained and I should not worry about it. I signed the papers and paid them the amount in full.
After three days, I got a call from my house owner. He said that there was heavy damage to the wooden floor and the walls of the house. That must have happened while shifting the furniture outside. They did not lift the furniture and pulled it out, which made scratches on the floor. They even scratched the walls while passing it through the door. My owner showed me all the pics of the house and it was really bad.
I was still waiting for my stuff in another city. My house was empty and I was using my friends place for time being. I called them and they told me that they had not even started the truck from there. They told me that it would take a week. I got few things that was important and shifted to my place. I couldn’t have stayed for long with my friend. They did not appear before a month. It took them 30 days to bring my stuff to my place in another city that was few miles away.
When I received my items, I found scratches on the table and sofa cushion were torn. I confronted them and they told me that the agreement does not cover those damages. They were minor problems and I can take care of that. They even did not apologize for the delay. I called the manager of the company and he did not bother to answer my call.
I made him 10 calls per day. And the third day, he received my call. I started fuming. I told him to pay for the damages and the problems that they created. He told me to fill in the documents and email them. I did as he said.
I filled the documents, uploaded the photos of my house and the furniture and sent it to them. I waited for a week. There was no response. Hence, I called him again and I was directed to the voice call. I tried few times and then I called from another number. He picked the call. I asked him about that unprofessional behaviour and he was so calm about it. He said that it could be a coincidence. Are you serious? I knew he was lying.
He told me that he would take care of it. I waited again and it was 2 months from the date I flew to this city. But, no email and no calls were returned. I waited and then called once more for the last time only to find the voice mail.
Thee moving company is a scam and I would never use their services. I would try until they take the responsibility of all the expenses I had to incur because of them. These people use their customers to earn money. That is all they want. They do not care about anyone’s money. These are con artists and incase you are using their services, make sure you check on them regularly and if you are planning to, better get another option. Otherwise, you will end up cribbing like me. They are good for nothing.
