I had problems related to my mensuration. So, I contacted Dr. Kathy Partida who is a reputed doctor at The Women’s Center pllc, Bellevue in July 2015. She examined the issue and the same day I visited her, she suggested me to take few tests such as pap smear, blood tests, ultrasound, etc. When I asked about the reasons, she simply said its necessary and she would explain me later.
I wanted to delay the tests for few days to check with my insurance team about the coverage. But, she rushed me for undergoing those tests and I was not able to contact my insurance company. Few days later, I got a bill of $586.00 which did not include the lab charges for the blood tests.
I was surprised as the amount was huge. I instantly talked for the insurance claim and they denied as it was not under my insurance plan. I had to pay the bill from my pocket. I had already paid a lot and wanted to stop it there.
So, I called the clinic and asked the receptionist to mail the reports to my email address. The receptionist said that she couldn’t until I make another appointment with the doctor to discuss the results.
I knew I had problem but it was not that serious which required so many tests and follow-ups. Every woman goes through few changes and issues at their puberty which does not mean they should be admitted under emergency. However, I was feeling much likely the same as if I was fighting with a deadly disease.
I had no choice but to make the second appointment. I had to get those reports and that was my only way out. Looking at my reports, she gave a confused look and asked me to go through the ultrasound again as she was not clear about the problem.
I had spent a lot on the tests and now was not in a position to go through the same financial crisis. I was also not sure if she would detect the root cause from the another ultrasound result. So, I declined and took my reports with me.
I thought it’s over. But, I received an email from The Women’s Center Pllc, a year later in November 2016. They sent me an outstanding bill of $133. They also asked me to clear the bill ASAP to avoid any legal complications.
I called the hospital to enquire about the bill. They informed me that the bill was for the last visit when I collected my reports. This was devastating. When you are not expecting something and it comes as a thunder, it shakes you from within.
I was shocked. How could they not contact me for the complete year when all my details were correct in their files. The receptionist was also surprised but that was not the cure of my problem.
I paid so much and still unaware about my actual problem. Still they have the guts to send me the outstanding bill. Really, they are spineless professionals. The Women’s Center Pllc is a scam. I hate the day I decided to seek help from them.
