The Loft Exchange

The Entire Process Was Painful

There are two Michaels that work with The Loft Exchange. This review is of our experience working with Michael Ferguson.

I had to review because positive reviews of The Loft Exchange are what got us involved with this company in the first place.

We purchased a loft through Loft Exchange and worked with Michael Ferguson.

He was thorough in showing us the loft and was very knowledgeable about the neighborhood.

The rest of the experience we had working with him was not as positive.

Throughout the entire transaction he asked us for guidance in areas he was supposed to be the expert in.

His negotiating skills were nonexistent, we had to ask and remind him to hit deadlines, documents were sent incorrectly multiple times, any contacts he set us up with (for loans, inspection reports etc) were unreliable and inefficient.

We got a beautiful loft out of the deal, but the entire process was painful.

  1. he followed up with me about move-in issues.

Michael was fantastic in helping me get situated in a great loft in the Rowan building. He was honest and easy to work with. And after I signed my lease, he followed up with me about move-in issues.

  2. They are Not very professional and reliable.

I am a property owner in downtown Los Angeles. I have a real estate license and I post my own listings for my properties. The Loft Exchange has brought reliable clients to look at one of my properties. It has been a pleasure to have worked on a deal with The Loft Exchange. They are Not very professional and reliable.

  3. I met Michael Ferguson back in the summer of.

I met Michael Ferguson back in the summer of. I had moved from NY to LA and was between jobs. With extensive time to look for a place to live, I invested some time searching for the best loft I could find downtown LA. I can say I entered at least 80% of the buildings in the fashion district that had units to rent at the time and consequently met the respective real state agents. I visited dozens of units.

Three weeks later, after too many “not good enough” lofts visits, I was about to settle for a small loft and that’s when I heard back from LE and I decided to give it a shot. We met downstairs, we walked up to the unit and even before the door slam in my back, I knew that it was it. Paper work took place immediately, smoothly and I’ve been here since then.

If one may think that “it was luck”, here is what happened later: Half way between then and now, when my wife and I decided that would be good to live separate in downtown, I contacted Michael. He arranged a visit to a unit in a building I had previously been interested.

The unit was very good and I could see myself living there. It didn’t happen that I had to move out of my current place, but those were the best two lofts I saw downtown, within the price range I was looking for.
