Waited And Waited And Waited

Tax Aid Free Tax Preparation for the OMI Beacon Community Center Denman Middle school.

I arrived at the office at 10:00 AM with my 6-year-old son.

We signed up, registered, waited, and waited patiently until my name was called.

After more than four hours, I am number 34 on the waiting list.

They called me to check the paperwork and have me sit down and wait.

After a few minutes, I asked when my turn was, and they said to wait for me and call me.

After waiting for five hours, I noticed volunteers hurrying to pack up and put away all the equipment. One computer remained open due to an older gentleman being served.

I asked if they had called me to confirm my turn but was told they “have skipped you by mistake.

Can you return next Saturday for our next Tax prep?” They told me that it was my day off and that they could take me if there were one computer still open.

I was the last one to have my taxes completed. After five hours of waiting, what the F man?

Your volunteers should be trained to check in on people regularly to ensure they are okay.
