Synchrony Financial is a dirt company

I do not have any account with this company right now, but I did have one few years back. I made few late payments and my account was forwarded to the credit agencies. I do admit that I had to pay an over of $700 to settle the account. I print the confirmation page and showed it to one of the credit agencies.

It was made okay with the credit agency. However, I do not do it even with the other credit agencies which I thought would automatically be intimated. Later after few years, I realized that the debt was still not paid. So, I tried to sort the matter. I tried to log into my account to see the proofs of the payment made.

However, I could not log in as the account was closed long back. I could not find any record of it which was completely normal. So, I called Synchrony Financial to get some proofs. They may have with them. Thinking the same, I called these people. I thought I will clear it from my credit by showing the proof.

However, these guys told me that they have no proof of me paying the money and I am still under debt. That came surprising as I had cleared the account long back and one of the credit agencies had also updated the status based on the confirmation letter.

According to these guys my account was closed, and they do not have any papers pertaining to that account. So, as per the credit report, I still had their money and needed to pay in order to clear the credit score.

So, I asked the guy I was talking to for a solution. He said that I must write a letter to an address asking for more information on the account. I asked him to email the address as I was driving. He said that it wasn’t possible as he was not allowed to mail from the office, and everything was accounted.

I thought I will tackle this later. I had so much to do at work. But, calling these guys was the biggest mistake. Instead of solving the matter and helping me with the papers and payment proofs, these people just forwarded my account to the credit agencies once again. I started getting calls from them. Until now, no one was bothered about the debt as it was already paid. After I told them about my problem, the calls started coming up.

They started harassing me every day. It is so much difficult to get rid of these people when they happen to be the scammers and not the right company. I am stuck with these calls and a debt that was actually paid long back. These people have also ruined my credit score and are not doing anything to help someone who happened to be their customer few years back. This is not justified. These people will have to provide a solution and I am not going to pay without a reason.

    Crooked SOB. Watch your accounts closely. I’ve reported them to the BBB. Watch out for little things like SPEEDPAY and other misc fees. No website available to check your balance. You can only pay by phone and it’s 2019. Finance somewhere else!

    When i called there customer service for support on the matter i was treated like complete trash. the man was so insulting and rude i had no choice but ask for manager.

    he laughed and treated my request like it was a game telling sure i can do that then running me in circles not actually transferring me to a manager. after the 11th time of me asking to be transferred i had enough and notified him that i am now recording our conversation in which at that time he immediately transferred me.

    terrible place , no better than comcast or citi bank. after dealing with them just to get a card was an unbearable situation. now i know that if there was ever to be a problem with my card i will not get the help i would need.

    unfortunately new egg is useing them for their 6-12 no interest cards . i do not appreciate being treated like a criminal, talked down to . will NEVER USE THIS BANK !!!!!!!!

    I never applied for a SYNCB LUXURY ACCOUNT. This is identity theft.
    I do not use credit card and I prefer to pay in cash. I don’t even know

  6. Probably one of the worst financial institutions I've ever used

    Probably one of the worst financial institutions I’ve ever used. I have multiple accounts open with synchrony and as soon as my balances are paid off I will never finance through them again. Online interface is pretty much useless. Promotional purchases don’t reflect on your account once they are expired so it is hard to keep track of what you are paying interest on.

    You cannot pay towards a promotional purchase online so you have to call and sit on hold every time you want to pay towards a particular promotional purchase. Doesn’t help that their customer services reps are not pleasant to speak with.
