I recently had surgery with a surgeon from Surgical Clinic of Central Arkansas. The surgeon was wonderful
Took lots of time to answer my questions and worked hard to make me feel comfortable in a very difficult situation.
If I was only rating for the surgeon, I would rate 5 stars. However, the staff at the clinic is another story.
I waited a LONG time to see the doctor, and the nurses acted like I was putting them out by just showing up for my appointment.
They were all business during the process to arrange the surgery. However, once I set a date for the surgery.
they were cold and got angry when I called with any questions. Things got even worse after the surgery.
They never bothered to call to check in with me, or provide any guidance for the medicine that I was given, or common problems that might come up.
I had some complications that could eventually turn into a major issue, and I couldn’t even get my surgeon’s nurse on the phone.
Instead they sent my call to another person in the clinic (not sure if she was even a nurse), who basically told me that I was not their responsibility now that the surgery was finished.
Instead, if I had issues she said that I would have to either call my primary care or go to the ER if they were severe.
I felt like they had abandoned me once they were able to file the claim for the surgery with my insurance.
They told me that they will not provide any prescriptions except what I was given on the day of the surgery.
That they weren’t going to provide any help for me, even if I needed it. I didn’t realize that I would be completely on my own after surgery.
That they cared so little for their patients. If I knew then what I know now, I probably would have picked a different clinic.
