Update – while I originally gave these guys a 5 star, I now have to take four away. I essentially moved my furniture to storage so I didn’t go through any of the things until a couple days ago. I labeled all items fragile, with arrows pointing to which side should be up (on all sides of the boxes) and with the word “FRAGILE” on the top as well. I even separated the fragile boxes from the others, and pointed that out to the mover. Even with all of this prep work, of the two fragile boxes I’ve since opened, both have several broken items. This is frustrating given my direction and preparation, but more so because those things lost, were antiques and heirlooms. So, don’t use these guys unless you’re moving things you’re ok getting broken.

I couldn’t be happier with my Strongmove experience. I recently moved in state but about 200 miles, I was a bit concerned when the first company I asked to provide a proposal was going to charge me close to 4K. I decided to post my move on, and Strongmove came in with the best value bid at nearly a quarter of the original proposal. The price was right so I went with them. From the beginning discussion with Begen, to the actual move with Sam and Abay, I couldn’t have been happier. All three were considerate, thorough, and professional. Abay and Sam worked hard to get my things safely and carefully, loaded, moved and unloaded, and did it all in the same day in a little less than 8 hours (including travel). I’ve had to move often over the past few years, and the next time I do, I’ll start with Stongmove. If your in VA, I think these guys should be your first call for your moving needs.

  1. They did not reach out about the items or the return of the items.

    The movers were late after insisting I book them earlier than I requested. The movers did not move at a decent pace and were careless with my items. Many items were broken upon arrival, even when the boxes were marked fragile. To help with time, I had to start moving things in my own car and unwrap items for them at the second location.

    When I went to pay, they gave me a higher price than what I owed, and we had to go over the math multiple times before they agreed to charge me the correct amount. At the end, a few of my items were left in the truck and took over 24 hours to get back. I noticed the first item was missing within 15 minutes of their departure but they would not turn around because they had another move to get to.

    When I called 15 minutes after their departure, they did not let me know about the other missing items still in the truck even though I was the only move they had done that day. The guy at the office also did not mention the additional items either when I called to arrange drop-off.

    I had to not only inquire about them once I realized they were also missing but I had to make all contact for the return. They did not reach out about the items or the return of the items.
