State Farm Insurance

State Farm mislead me through the entire process of Insurance claim

My vehicle sustained some damage, and I filed a claim with State Farm Insurance, which happened to be my insurance company.

When I requested the claim filing, the agent told me that the vehicle would be destroyed if the damage exceeded 75% of its total value. If the car was damaged, he said I could purchase it back.

Knowing that the damages were not much more, I started the claim process. My vehicle also had a new engine that cost $8000.

I was confident that the vehicle wouldn’t be declared a total loss. Later I realized that they had lied to me.

They didn’t provide any such figure in the first instance. They denied me the buyback option after putting my vehicle up for the total loss.

A week later, I received a call from them advising me that my vehicle had been totaled.

I requested a detailed analysis of the 75% damage cost. They informed me that instead of 75%, the price was 30%.

I wanted to fix my car. It all happened so quickly that I didn’t know what to do.

I was presented with a $1000 bill by them.

They also assessed the damage and charged me at the dealer’s shop.

They told me everything they claimed at the beginning was false and asked me to return the aftermarket parts.

Because I was forced to, I agreed with them.

They promised me that they would compensate me for the parts.

I was contacted by a voicemail confirming that all parts had been included in the final payout.

I felt betrayed and requested a detailed assessment that included these parts.

A few hours later, I received an assessment along with a statement that confirmed that $1300 was owed to me.

If I had not asked for a detailed assessment, would they keep the money? They pressured me into accepting that my vehicle was in total loss.

After two weeks, I found out that my vehicle was up for sale in a nearby town.

I was unsure of the process and called my agent to confirm.

I wanted to know how they could make it sellable since I couldn’t purchase it.

They denied the sale and claimed that it wasn’t happening.

They were lying to my face, I’m sure.

They were lying to me after what had happened over the past weeks.

They will not be able to compete with such a service. Many other companies offer genuine service.

They are a terrible company. I’d be careful before signing up for any other insurance company this time.
