St Mary’s Bank

VERY BAD CORPORATE ATTITUDES

Since 1993, I’ve been with St Mary’s Bank Credit Union. They’re the first credit union in America.

They were beautiful when they were just a Credit Union. So I thought.

But, my banking needs have grown beyond just a checking or savings account.

Add in the fact that they are now considered a Bank and not just a Credit Union, and St. Mary’s has gone downhill.

It used to be that I didn’t have anything negative to say about them.

This has all changed dramatically. They don’t know how to resolve problems correctly.

They do not set up new accounts correctly, resulting in my losing interest.

They “lost” my account and can’t seem to admit that it’s gone…along with the cash in the account!

Weeks later, the problem is still not solved.

Now I am fighting for my husband’s survival from a brain tumor, and accounts are not on my mind.

They don’t respond to me promptly, so I am frustrated beyond belief.

As soon as I research another bank or credit union, we will be moving our business.

Finally, the home mortgage that we had taken out with St. Mary’s back in January 2015 was taken out twice a month from our checking account to generate an additional mortgage payment at the end of each calendar year.

The auto-payments were initially set up, but they changed the payment to one month during the second year without any explanation or notice.

We didn’t make our extra payment, which was set to lower our mortgage faster.

They only said they no longer created two monthly payments and could not change the arrangement.

It’s more about how the event happened, but that is all it is.

They did not offer any other options, and worse of all, when we went to the bank at the end of the following year and made an extra payment.

The banker at St Mary’s Bank lowered our auto payments to pay less money during the yea.

This eliminates our additional payment and further reduces our efforts to reduce our mortgage.

I’m done dealing with this BANK. After many years of being kind to your members, you now act corporately.

Their CORPORATE ATTITUDES are disgusting to me now!

  1. I have never had an experience with any business or bank like I have this one.

St Marys Bank, McGregor St, Manchester, NH. America’s worst credit union. I have never had a similar experience with a bank or business. They caused me so much stress and have made things worse. They told me to stop paying a check that I had written from an incorrect account.

They advised me to write another check from the correct account and mail it to the recipient via FedEx. They honored the first check after taking $12000.00 from my savings account. I have sent two checks totaling $24,000 from two accounts to this individual. This bank is entirely incompetent.

I was on vacation in Florida when I tried to fill my car with gas using my debit card. It was denied. I called the bank immediately to report the issue. They said nothing was wrong with the debit card and that it was the station where I was using it. I stopped by a hotel to check-in for the evening, but my debit card was not working there.

Because my money was attached and my credit card was exhausted, I was forced to sleep in my car in Georgia with my dog. The following day, I called the bank to share my horror story. They confirmed that Visa fraud had locked my card as I used it outside the state. I told them my horror story. But instead, they left me to sleep in my car.

  2. They gave me a new card the same day I went in to talk to them.

I am surprised to see so many bad reviews. I joined them when Fleet Bank started charging outrageous fees, if anyone can remember when that was. I had a car loan and had the amount taken out of my account monthly, so there were no fees for that.

Now I just use them for my Social Security check deposits and pay no fees. The only problem is that they were hacked into last month. I got a phone call alerting me of suspicious activity and I had payments stopped. They gave me a new card the same day I went in to talk to them.

  3. Bad Service

BING does not have the Manchester, N.H., a leading building listed. I called the main number, and the woman transferred my call to the D.W. Highway 1 by the PURITAN Restaurant. It would have been nice if the woman had asked me if I wanted the direct phone # for future reference. The man replied that I had to ask what he meant in such a slur. ESP it.

However, I was curious if it would be okay if I dropped by to pick up a few quarters ($500). Or do I need to fill out a requisition? Like some other bank requires, he told me to wait a minute. Of course, he meant a minute. It took only 30 seconds.

  4. This app is not displaying a few important items that I would like to see

The app does not display a few essential items that I want to see. This includes my loan from the Credit Union for $5,000.00. I would also like to be able to transfer cash between accounts when needed.

It would be great to work together with both accounts and see what is happening at home and abroad.

  5. He is a co-signer in my loan as I got a better deal at the dealership with various discounts he qualified for.

I am a Maine resident. I have an auto loan with St Mary’s in Manchester. Since the beginning, I have had my loan. They’ve been great, except I was notified that one of my payments had been late.

However, I had made the payment. I called to make sure everything was okay.

He said it was my fault because the payment was delayed between my Maine checking bank (which offers free bill pay, so I use it to avoid fees/sending check fees) and St Mary’s.

I understand that things happen. I probably should have made my payment sooner. However, they charged me a fee after showing them screenshots of my banking transactions and the date.

My father is my co-signer on my loan because I received a better deal from the dealership with several discounts that he was eligible for. I have had no issues, and I have never missed a payment. Last month, I missed a call because I was at work. My father starts reaching me and tells me to call the back.

Talk about embarrassing! He is cosigned, and it is legal to contact him if something is going on. However, they did not give me the time to call them back. He misled me into believing that I had missed two consecutive months of payments.

This sent me spiraling. I went online to bank my bank’s online banking and confirmed that I had not missed any payments.

  6. Terrible service.

Terrible customer service at Macgreggor Street bank The wait times are long. Staff replied that they didn’t know how long it took to get through the line. Today, we don’t have enough staff. They have several teller positions, but there were only two tellers on the first of each month.

Terrible customer service. After waiting 20 minutes to deposit my check, the teller refused to take my completed requisition. I had to wait another 10 minutes before I could hand my form over to the counter. Get it together, St Mary! I’d be happy to leave without any hassle. It is too difficult to make changes. Maybe one day.

  7. I warn you to never do business with this bank!!

This Banks not to be trusted! St Mary’s Bank was going to refinance our house, and they made many mistakes on every piece of paper. As they blamed the computer system, we continued giving them copies of the same information three and four times. The other department doesn’t know what the other is doing.

The method of refinancing with another bank was smooth and took about two months. They sent an unprofessional appraiser to our house, which was inaccurate. They charged $450.00 for an appraisal, which was non-refundable. The entire process took six months.

St Mary’s continues to call my mortgage holder, requesting a payment amount. They have already reached my Bank five times, and we’ve had no business dealing with them for months. We are charged $25 per call for fax.

Suppose you are serious about your time, money, and sanity, ST. Mary’s Bank is not the Bank for you. They were not worthy of 1 star, but it was the best I could do.

  8. This bank is absolutely ridiculous.

This bank is absolutely ridiculous. They request very personal information every time you want any information about an account. They have lost expensive documents of mine, like my mother’s death certificate which I had to replace using my own funds and time.

The customer service is always slow and I constantly find myself waiting to speak with a representative. This bank needs much better customer service, and more structure so their employees can do their jobs to meet the needs of their customers. I’ve had only bad experiences with this bank and I would not recommend it to anyone.

  9. DO NOT USE THIS BANK FOR ANYTHING!

I have never conversed with such incompetent people in my life. I am actually appalled. After 4 weeks of back and forth inquiries about my car title after I paid it off they finally tell me that they have lost my title, and that my only option is to go to my town hall to request a duplicate.

MORE WORK FOR ME FOR THEIR MISTAKE. Not to mention the $43 dollar duplicate title fee that I had to pay that they won’t reimburse. DO NOT USE THIS BANK FOR ANYTHING!

  10. If anyone ever approves you for a car loan with this bank,

If anyone ever approves you for a car loan with this bank, do not do it. Worst place I have ever had to deal with. Rude customer service and takes forever for someone to call you back.

  11. I cannot get my money out of there quickly enough.

I’ve been a member here for about 7 years. It’s an excellent bank for your day-to-day deposits and withdrawals. Anything more complicated than that? They will screw it up and it will be Someone Else’s Fault.

I believed them the first time. I mostly believed them the second time. But today? Today I had to listen to a lady (Corene) go on for literally twenty minutes about how “This is absolutely not my fault” long after the problem was fixed. When I made it clear to her that I didn’t care,

she threatened me. She said that if I didn’t stay and listen to her prattle for another twenty minutes, she would put a note on my account saying that anything that happens to it after I leave is Someone Else’s Fault. That’s a blanket statement. They won’t take responsibility for anything.

I have no idea if my money is going to be there when I wake up in the morning. I cannot get my money out of there quickly enough.

  12. I told them I would close out my accounts and they said ok.

St Mary’s Bank has been my bank for more than ten years. Today I went to St Mary’s Bank to cash a check for $331.00 on behalf of my niece. I have more money than necessary to pay this payroll check. It was a third-party check, and I was told no. Are you kidding?

I offered to wait for the check to clear before I deposited it. I was told no. It’s not clear to me. I have never had any problems with my accounts and have more money than necessary to cover them. But, they said no. They agreed to close my accounts. I will close my accounts this morning.

  13. Scammer

For many years, this bank has been an excellent place to work. They have become less cust-oriented in recent years, however.
Mary will accept a guest who arrives with an st. Mary charges a 4.00 fee. It costs 14.00 to make a phone payment.

My equity line increased from 2.5 to more than 5.0.

They are not responsible for this, but I could get a better deal after they reached out to my back. It was placed on a zero percent cc. It seems like there is a solid push to go online.

They must have demonstrated that they care about our company and are willing to help us. Soon banks will be obsolete. Smile. It’s just a little bit more than usual.

  14. He is extremely rude!!!

St Marys recently upgraded its online banking system. I had set up payments for last week, but they haven’t been sent yet. Now I must send electronic payments as soon as possible.

The statement shows that my account was debited Wednesday, March 27, but no funds have been taken and no bills paid. I called the service representative, and he suggested sending the statements again.

Done! STILL, NO Payments going! It still shows a payout date of 3/27, but that has already passed!

REALLY???? Incompetence at its finest! They claim that I am the only one having this problem… but I was born yesterday. This was also the worst experience with any mortgage company. After being pre-approved, it took many months to close my loan.
