I have mostly great things to say about Doug, who actually completed my taxes.
While I wasn’t prepared for the $425 sticker price to complete my taxes, he otherwise did a great job in preparing them for me well and on time.
I do however have negative things to say about a colleague in the office who handles IRS contacts.
I was referred to Bill to help me get things set up with the IRS for an installment agreement.
He reached out to me via email and said he could help.
After he made a phone call to the IRS on my behalf and found that my request would need to be done via writing, his help stopped.
He forwarded me the forms to fill out (which I could have done) and I told him I would fill them out and mail myself, which I did.
He later sent me an email to advise me he had received a response in writing from the IRS.
All of that work…emailing me a form that he didn’t actually help me to fill out, making 1 phone call that turns out was unnecessary if he knew the IRS rules, cost me $233.
I was never told that I was being charged for email conversations or I never would have agreed!
Not only was he completely unhelpful, he didn’t actually DO anything other than write me a couple of emails and each email he says took him 30 minutes to write and charged me a little over $1 per MINUTE!
As soon as I got the bill I told him I was appalled at the insane charges that I was never told about in advance and not to contact my further via email as I would handle things myself.
While I was surprised by the initial cost to have someone prepare my taxes, the insanely ridiculous charges will make me never return to Snyder & Foster again and not recommend them to anyone in the future.
