Smith Plastic Surgery

Dr. Lane Smith is arrogant, rude, and condescending

I’m very disappointed in my experience with Dr.Lane Smith . I was really excited for my consultation. I knew he was a good doctor and I was excited to take the next step towards my procedure. Unfortunately, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment.

I waited three hours to see him, and when I finally did, he was pushy, rude, unapologetic (for being 3 hours late), and very condescending. Whenever I tried to ask questions or suggest something different he would quickly cut me off and tell me (in an annoyed voice)

“if I could do that I already would have.” Obviously I’m not a surgeon and don’t know all he knows. His job though, is to educate and make his patients feel comfortable and also to make sure they’re educated in the procedure they want. It is NOT to make them feel stupid for asking questions.

The whole consultation I felt uncomfortable and nervous because I didn’t know what he was going to do or say next. He acted annoyed and put-out the entire time.Despite his rudeness, I was still planning on going ahead with the surgery because I knew he’d do a good job.

I tried calling Jessica to schedule the appointment for 2 weeks; I left messages and sent emails but she never got back to me. I finally called the front desk to see what was going on. After being put on a very long hold, the receptionist got back on the phone and told me that Dr. Smith wouldn’t perform my surgery.

Apparently he felt uncomfortable in our consult (because I was asking questions??) and didn’t think he could meet my expectations. It’s funny because I felt the exact opposite. Sure, he was a giant ass, but I had faith that he could do the job well.

I guess he just doesn’t like to be questioned. Must make him feel insecure. A good doctor listens to their patients and addresses their concerns (without making them feel stupid).Dr. Lane Smith is arrogant, rude, and condescending. He needs to go back to school and review the bedside manner chapter. He must’ve been absent that day.

  1. Smith Plastic Surgery is victim of mentally ill consumers

There is a miserable racist Mexican that wants a refund for her surgery deposit after she cancelled, now she is retaliating by trying to ruin this practice. Also a few weirdos that cant handle rejection.

  2. Never Again

I had a lot of questions and every time i called to ask my questions the staff was very rude and almost seemed as if i was bothering them. Do they not know that patients pay their salary?!?! Come on you guys are only receptionist that’s all. Anyone can do that job not rocket science. I paid a lot of money did not deserve to be treated like this.

  3. Best decision I ever made!

Best decision I ever made! After twins, Dr. Smith did an amazing tummy tuck for me. No more baby “pooch” and all the excess skin is gone. My pants, shorts, skirts, and dresses fit perfectly.

Dr. Smith’s staff was always kind and helpful during the pre and post op care. Dr. Crowley the anesthesiologist was kind and put me at ease before the surgery. The results are near perfection. Swimsuit season is less stressful too. Truly one of the best decisions I ever made.

  4. Breast Augmentation Nightmare

I received a breast augmentation with Dr. Smith in September of 2017. I finally saved enough money to be able to afford the $6300 surgery. After the procedure I had complications of capsular contracture in both breasts. Therefore, I had to schedule a revision surgery. I went for that procedure in February of 2018, which he charged me an additional $1000. Immediately after the procedure when I came to, I noticed two drains, which was never explained to me. I was shocked to wake up to it without being consulted, but now I have no choice. This was upsetting because now i have additional scarring. When it came to the point of getting my drains removed, Dr. Smith felt I was ready to have them removed. On the other hand, one of his many assistants indicated she didn’t think one drain was ready to be removed. She was right. I, once again, developed capsular contracture in my right breast. I asked about another revision surgery, which he wanted to charge me an additional $2000 for. I was already hesitant to receive a 3rd surgery from a doctor who claims to be one of the best within the country so I refused. Unfortunately, this was far from the only problem I had with Dr. Smith. The initial surgery price took care of medication and blood work. I was surprised to see that with the following surgery, I had to come out of pocket for the medication and blood work after spending $7300. Also, after the revision surgery, during my visit the day after the surgery, he said it slipped his mind to put my nipple in the right place and laughed about it! Yea, that’s right. Because getting cut open multiple times is funny. On top of that, each time I had an appointment with Dr. Smith, I would be in the waiting room for approx. 2 hours waiting for my turn. I NEVER received any before/after photos as promised and no follow ups after I refused a 3rd procedure. It is now May of 2019 and I still have capsular contracture in my right breast. It took me so long to write a review because I really dont like to write negative reviews but I felt this was necessary due to his lack of compassion or care of his patients. I just had a Skype interview with the casting producer of the E! show Botched. Hopefully, I will be chosen to show my story so people can see what Dr. Smith has left me with. Please do your research and consider other doctors. Ive heard nothing but good things about Dr. Pancholi so look into him. Good luck with your procedure and I really hope you don’t go through what I did!

  7. Smith Plastic Surgery Not Good Service Provide.

Had a consult with Dr Smith, he was thorough, professional, & made me feel very comfortable. His staff were also welcoming, professional & very nice. Unfortunately, ONLY Jessica was unprofessional, & used sarcasm to speak to me. Sad how one person can ruin it for the rest.

She made me feel uncomfortable & to this day I still wonder why she acted in that manner. My rating is SOLELY based on my experience with Jessica.

  8. there are far more plastic surgeons out there to choose from.

Even though this website indicates that Dr. Smith is a wonderful plastic surgeon, do not believe it! He did a small procedure on me and when I became uphappy with the outcome, he got defensive and has even accused me of being demanding and difficult to deal with. This guy is crazy. Beware…there are far more plastic surgeons out there to choose from.

  9. They only keep the good ones or the ones they themselves have created!

Wow! That was fast! I wrote a NOT HAPPY review 3 days ago and it’s already been buried by whoever they have doing their IT. Quick. If you’re not happy…don’t bother leaving a review. They only keep the good ones or the ones they themselves have created!

  10. uggh where to start with this place.

uggh where to start with this place…First of all i waited 2 hours for A consultation. i was going to leave but i felt like i invested to much of my time already so when i meet Dr. Smith he was very nice and made me feel comfortable about him and his work. So I scheduled my surgery. once i scheduled my surgery and gave my deposit I felt as if the staff turned a switch and they were no longer nice.

Shannon made many mistakes on my upcoming appointments and acted as if it was my fault.

I was also under the impression that i was going to have a second consultation with DR. Smith boy was i wrong. Well if you consider a 10 minute meeting before surgery. I expected much more very disappointing over all. I Should of gone with the original surgeon(Dr. Brown). TERRIBLE MISTAKE. Bottom line is I wound not recommend this office to anyone!
