We have been using John Siebert as our tax accountant since moving to Columbus 4 years ago.
We were typically happy with his service until now.
John completed our tax return and our daughters in March.
We received our refund a couple of weeks ago, but our daughters had not arrived.
I checked the IRS website for the status and found out that they had no record of her return being filed.
When I called., the assistant told me that an extension was filed on her return, but she didn’t know why.
When John called me back. he was very short with me and just said “it’s been filed”.
When I asked why, he made a bunch of excuses, but never once apologized for the mistake.
I also asked why we were not contacted when he discovered the mistake, so we wouldn’t just be sitting around thinking the return was going to show up any day.
Again, no response, just “it has been filed now and she will get the return when it is processed.”
I understand that things happen, I just would have liked a LITTLE professional courtesy .
Unfortunately, we will be looking for another tax accountant.
